Didi Benami sings Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac on the American Idol Top 16 - and does a pretty amazing job I might add... I think Stevie would be pleased with this.
Hit the link to view the vid and there's an mp3 download of the live performance as well.
Take that Taylor Swift, the Grammy darling who couldn't sing Rhiannon in tune, even while singing the song with Stevie. And that other girl who sang Landslide two weeks ago on AI was not that bad either. At least Randy said it was a great song. But that Kara Dioguardi (who I now hate) had the nerve to tell the girl that Landslide was a down song. Between Fleetwood Mac, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Dixie Chicks all having a hit out of Landslide, Stevie was given an award because it is now one of the most played songs ever on radio. And I have never thought it was a depressing song at all.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't amazing. When are these girls going to stop playing it safe and rock it out like they should.
ReplyDeletePlayed it safe, dawg.
I love Didi's version & also think Stevie would be proud of it.
ReplyDeleteI believe there have been some good suggestions for the replacement of Simmon Cowell. I think one interesting choice would be MICK FLEETWOOD (the legendary founder of FLEETWOOD MAC), he even has the BRITISH ACCENT (a trait that seems to work well on shows with judges) and is extremely experienced when it comes to music. Although the younger audiences may not know exactly who Fleetwood is, the wiser viewers will, which would be a much needed addition to the often "too tween & twinky" Idol. Music is not only for the young, it's for all ages, and Idol needs to reflect that more by pulling in some adult viewers who love music as well. Whoever is chosen, it certainly should be someone with the authority to truly judge when it comes to music. An older, wiser individual with experience.
