STEVIE NICKS REVIEW: LESS THAN COMPLETELY IMPRESSED

STEVIE NICKS.... HARVEY'S LAKE TAHOE

Review by:
Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher
Last night I attended my first Stevie Nicks concert. I saw her once before--in 1981, at a Tom Petty concert, she came onstage and did the two songs, one from her album and one from his, that they'd done together. It wasn't enough.
So last night, almost three decades later, I finally saw her in concert. Sadly, I was less than completely impressed.

This review is not that bad, he just was unhappy about which songs she didn't do. And I saw the Santa Barbara show and I agree with most of what he said. Keeping so many great Fleetwood Mac songs only for their shows, makes her solo shows seem slight. And she should do other songs of hers instead of all the cover songs.

THIS IS WHERE THIS PERSON LOSES CREDIBILITY AS A REVIEWER: "As soon as everyone was on stage, I recognized Wachtel immediately. I don't like him, never have, never will. He may even be a good guitarist, but I don't like him as a person. I was disappointed that he was there."

Actually, the person lost credibility when the review was titled "Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher." :P

LOL as a TRUE fan I think the set list was MORE than enough! and she didnt even know the song Fall From Grace? LOL oh but she knew Sara. this person sounds like she should have given her ticket to an actual fan. but thanks for posting! highly entertaining! dont quit your day job teach!

If they wanted to see Stevie so much, they should've gone several years ago...

First off, I'm a "he", not a "she". Second off, this is the *only* thing I've read except for what I myself wrote--and I got here from a link in a comment on my own blog. If others have problems with the set list, then I agree with them. No collusion, no stealing someone else's ideas, I just didn't like the set list. I'm capable enough to generate my own thoughts, thank you.

As for seeing Stevie or Fleetwood Mac before now, I had tickets in '82. Stevie "caught a cold" and the concert was rescheduled; my city was left out of the new tour. I've since seen Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham on solo tours.

I like how the comments have turned from what I said to me personally. Classy.

Darren: Practice what you preach. You made a personal attack against Waddy. You can't handle the criticism, don't publish a blog. Oh, and by the way, Stevie thinks you're a pussy and she'd prefer that you don't listen to her records anymore. I don't think you realize that Stevie's fans are the craziest and most obsessed people on earth and we will haunt you til the end of the earth if you talk shit about her or her band.

I didn't attack him. I said I didn't like him. Entirely different.

Gawd, can we still be best friends? Can I come to your 13th birthday party? Because you sound like a junior high student. Get over yourself and grow up a bit.

Don't waste your time arguing with Darren. His blog is an echo chamber where wingnuts whine about how put-upon they are. Dissenting comments are deleted. He dishes it out well, but cannot take anything, himself.

It's Stevie's show. She selects the musicians and she decides the setlist. Enjoy it for what it is or harbor resentment for your disappointment. Your choice is a good indication of how you live your life. Let Darren's words serve as a cautionary tale.

People should be allowed to voice their own opinion without ridicule. I'm a big Stevie fan, but her performances are not always up to her best. As for the set list, I'm glad to see she mixed it up a bit this time. As for Waddy, he's a damn good guitar player and certainly adds to her band. He's not there to pass a personality test.

Hmmm. Stevie is a legend so as far as I'm concerned she could sing happy birthday and her fans would stand in awe.
Darren is a nobody, not a fan, not a music critic, and certainly not even a blip on the radar as far as bloggers go. I'm sure he will delete this the cowardly usually do. My advice DO NOT review a concert based on personal opinions. Don't quit your day job teach. Coolness factor 0! As in covered in Loser dust as opposed to gold dust which Stevie is always covered in.

I love Stevie, but really, I don't think anyone would mind not hearing Dreams or Rhiannon again, especially as they were just done last year on the FM tour. She should pull out a couple songs from Rock a Little or Other Side of The Mirror. That would be a read treat.

Stop your bitching and whining and be thankful she's even doing shows, much less recording a new album. These people with their idiotic comments probably the same ones that listen to Lady Gag Gag. No credibility whatsoever. Pffft.

Why did this "review" even surface? The writer is not a music or entertainment journalist. What credentials does he have that makes his blog post go viral like this?

I'm looking forward to seeing Ms. Nicks in my backyard in a few weeks. She can go on stage and read a phone book and I'd still cheer for her. She's one in a million.
