I do love all these fans that get so nasty if anyone dare to say a single word about Stevie that is not completely glowing. Well I really don't love you, I thnk you're disgusting (and extremely crude). She is not a goddess, she is simply a beuatiful woman who writes and sings great songs. This album unfortunately is not her at her best.
No. Stevie finally comes out with with GREAT album and people know it's good, so they use it as an opportunity to vent out stupidity. She hasn't had an album on this level since Bella Donna, and you know it. You want attention and that's all. Get a life.
This is storytelling Stevie at her most detailed and inspired. This is the first record where she hasn't been trying to hide behind a persona - the witch, the jaded road warrior, her former girl-self. It's a mature woman whose senses are heightened to all the stories unfolding around her...this record sounds like she's just getting started.
I have not heard every cut on the new album, but what I have heard is wonderful!! I have to say that anyone that allows an anonymous post to chose what they like, is pretty pathetic. This is beyond all expectations and well worth the buy!!!! Thank you Stevie!!! Now, just come to sing in Portland?? Please?????? Dz
This album is just so gorgeous! It's Stevie's best work in decades, so romantic and full of storytelling. Her vocal work is dynamic and definitely her strongest since her 80's work - I'm actually incredibly impressed - She really went for it!
You may have noticed a few comments up at the top missing. They have been removed because of excessive negativity, or comments associated with them.
We all can handle negative reviews, but they need to be fair.
Some of the early comments were posted within an hour of the album being available online to listen to... Clearly that's not enough time to give a fair assessment of what you heard...
Let the music sit with you... listen to the album a couple of times... Absorb it. Then post a comment negative or positive... Not after one listen. That's hardly fair! Some albums need to grow on you.
Normally I don't like to remove comments because it's kind of along the free speach thing... but in certain cases I will.
You have to give blind praise to Stevie or your post is removed. Why bother to even go to this site or write posts when there is only one opinion that will stay up? Very childish and silly.
A solid effort but not a masterpiece. She is in fine vocal form especially on Italian Summer - one of her best songs ever. I'd prefer if it would have a few more uptempo rock tinged songs. Overall I'd grade it a B and I'll see if it grows on me over time to adjust it up to a B+.
I'm very much enjoying the new songs. But I like her being a bit country/folksy and that thread is definitely in this new work, but it still rocks (especially for a 62-year-old!) She seems more confident in her lyrics and singing. I think trying to act like she was 25 again would have been a big mistake. She sounds mature and introspective while still being relevant.
I am a die hard Stevie Nicks fan, she is pretty much all I listen to these days... I've been listening to the album since yesterday and a few of the tracks are really starting to grown on me but I do have to agree with what some people are saying on here that this is not her at her best. Though I do think that It is important to stay open minded and realize that perhaps at this point in her life she is trying something a bit different. I like how lyrically she seems to be growing and it's a lot more confessional than the usual imagery and words she has sometimes 'hidden' behind for decades. Although I love it all. I love Stevie, I love her heart and so I love pretty much everything she does because she puts her heart into it. I don't think the problem here is Stevie or the songs.. I think that for a lot of us LIndsey Buckingham brings something to Stevie's music that nobody else can.. I think that her songs on Say You Will are some of the best of her career. They are beautifully done and so intense and melodic. They just flow.
It just feels that the songwriting here on IYD is a little forced. There is a bit of the natural flow and genuis of what Stevie does is missing a little bit. It does seem like on some tracks they were sitting around trying really hard to find a vocal melody or write a song.. It seems a little forced at times.
But in saying that, I will keep listening to it and listen to these fabulous stories and take them in. I love the vibe here and I still think this is a beautiful album.
IT's funny, because the best songs are all songs that she wrote years ago.. when Vampire's Dream starts.. those twinkling keys.. the melody.. is haunting... it is a very old demo... maybe that's why? I don't know.. there is definitely something missing for me here...
Some magic.. But it's still better than 99 percent of what's out there today. So happy she's back.
When I hear reviewers like some of the ones above, I just know they have no taste or little experience. It's not since the early 80s that Stevie has delivered a really solid album. We finally get a solid album, that has depth, great lyrics, vocals and production and we have to tolerate these whiners who are mad because the greatness of this album only illustrates how bad some of her later works they CHAMPIONED really were. No one cares about your knit-picking, stupid opinions. TISL, TOSOTM, STREET ANGEL and ROCK A LITTLE are not even in the same league of this album. It is the same people over and over frequenting the Ledge and some other websites, who have to ruin a good thing with their negativity. (it's too country, I don't like the production, the songwriting is forced) You are more than lucky to get an album of this quality. P.S. Say You Will songs were not strong compared to this albums songs and Lindsey blew her out of the water on that album.
My local record store obtained an early copy of In Your Dreams, and sold it to me this afternoon. I've listened to it three times and I am extremely pleased. Lyrically, I think it's one of her strongest records. Vocally, she sounds great - lots of warmth and texture to her voice. Musically, it's full of color and variety. It's really hard to say which is my favorite song... there are so many really good ones. To be honest, I think this might be her best album since Bella Donna. The CD packaging is pretty cool, I like all of the photos in the booklet. I even read all of the lyrics and liner notes. Personally, I'm really proud to call myself a Stevie fan. I will be buying copies of this for my friends. "In Your Dreams" was definitely worth the wait! When my partner gets home from work, we will be lighting candles, pouring wine, and cranking up the stereo! Mark Heisler

I can't wait to hear the full album. It's sounds amazing! Great job, Stevie! I love every track!!!

And wow, how eloquent of you to use such
complex words as 'tard' and 'crap'. What a literate person you must be.

Sorry.
On 2nd listen I have to say I think this album is brilliant. Very strong indeed. Stevie's voice is on top form and the album exuded emotion.

I love what I've heard! I was working and had to catch little bits of it here and there, but from what I've heard this could be some of her best work.
