I will NEVER watch this show! I can't stand that bands feel they have to "sell out" in my opinion. I was hoping that Fleetwood Mac would have more class, and not do this show.
ReplyDeleteOh god. Get a grip. Its a popular show and that means Great exposure. It will likely result in increased album sales for both Stevie and the Mac. I don't watch the show but will definitely be tuning in that night. -Mark

ReplyDeleteAnd while you're worried about class, Fleetwood Mac/Stevie continue to rake in millions of dollars. I'm pretty certain think "class" flew out the window years ago when they went through their alcohol/drug addictions.
I don't think Rock'n Roll will ever be confused with class.
Well, it's not a great show. But there are some talented kids on that show and if it brings a whole new generation/audience to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac music...well, whats wrong with that! Besides, Stevie loves "Glee"
ReplyDeleteConsidering Go Your Own Way was already cheesily covered in an ad campaign by Enterprise Car Rental, if "selling out" is your concern, it's been done long ago. And good luck finding a band that refuses to license their music. Considering how few people buy albums now (really, FM's 23 year old Greatest Hits was one of the top 200 albums last week in the U.S.???), this is one of the few ways a band can actually make a buck. They can't count on sales or radio airplay anymore.
ReplyDelete:::singing::: "People out there turning music into gold baby gold." Ok, it isn't a FM song but my point is: Their music...it's gold. The next generation is aware of it and SINGING it. BRAVO Fleetwood Mac!
ReplyDeleteMy niece called an hour ago letting me know that Glee is covering the Rumours Album. She and her friends want to come to my house to watch it with me. Reminded me of an older niece who showed up at my house with friends to watch Fleetwood Mac on MTV in 97. Needless to say they all went out and got their own CDs of FM afterward, just as I'm sure those who come to see Glee will do afterwards.
No selling out here, it is continued success for them on many levels. Again, BRAVO Fleetwood Mac.
