Stevie's current single is about to drop off the Triple A Radio Play charts... With a decrease over last week in the number of times it was played at radio, this will likely be it's last week in the top 30.
On the Adult Contemporary charts she's down a postion to # 22 with radio plays flat for the week - but still maintains it's bullet. Only one station picked up the track over the previous week up to the reporting deadline of April 11th. The Oprah Effect isn't present here as this reporting period ended on Monday April 11th. There should be some sort of effect on next weeks chart.
These charts will be published in Billboard April 23rd.
Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks are all over iTunes and Amazon Best Seller Lists!
(iTunes and Amazon are moving targets with their charts, updating themselves every hour or so, so these numbers will change frequently... This is just a snapshot from earlier this evening)

Infuriating. Secret is sputtering, stalling and falling and they continue to sit on their hands with the video.
ReplyDeleteThe Oprah effect looks like itsbhelping album presales but not single sales, mostly because the single was an Oprah online extra and not part of the show.
Do videos even effect sales anymore? I don't know, but hell,at this point it can only help. IYD will drop without a rising single on the charts to garner excitement.
I used to think it was Warner Bros. who screwed up every Stevie/Fleetwood release. But more and more I wonder if it isn't Stevie herself who sabatoges her album releases. Once again no video from the most beautiful woman in rock, WTF ? ? ? ?
ReplyDeleteit's Stevie. She chose this single, probably out of ego. No one has said it's their favorites.
ReplyDeleteStevie wrote all the songs, so I doubt it's ego that led to this choice. I love the song but not having heard the rest of the cd, I can't say it's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThe video is being played in concert as she sings Secret, which makes this evenmore puzzling. I'm not blaming her, love her too much for that.
It's the label. Trust me, as a musician myself, I can say they think they are smarter than the artist. This is the kind of crap they always pull....this is why new artists also falter. They never give them a chance.
ReplyDeleteTime for the 2nd single. Doesn't really matter anyway, it's not like stevie's gonna be burnin' up any charts at this point, no matter how good her music is (and yes, I know that's unfair). Don't stress about the song not being top 10, I'm sure Stevie ain't stressin :)
