Alles Gute kehrt zurück, sagt ein Sprichwort. Deshalb ist es wohl wenig verwunderlich, dass im Retro-Jahr 2011 auch Sängerin Stevie Nicks den Weg zurück ins Rampenlicht gefunden hat. Und darüber kann man durchaus begeistert sein, denn sowohl stimmlich als auch optisch scheint sich die Texanerin kaum verändert zu haben. Man mag gar nicht recht glauben, dass Stevie bereits fast 63 (!) ist und seit mehr als 40 Jahren das Musikbusiness auf den Kopf stellt. Ihre Karriere zieren mehr als 40 Top 50 Hits und über 140 Millionen verkaufte Alben. Davor kann man nur den Hut ziehen. Ebenso wie vor ihrem neuen Album „In Your Dreams“.

Das wurde von Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) und Glen Ballard co-produziert und von Chris Lord-Alge abgemischt. Herausgekommen sind 13 tolle Titel, die Country, Pop und Rock problemlos miteinander verbinden und wunderbar zur markanten Stimme von Stevie Nicks passen. Gesangtechnisch wird sie teilweise von Dave Stewart, Lindsey Buckingham, Sharon Celani und Lori Nicks unterstützt, wobei sowohl Celani als auch Nicks schon seit 1978 bzw. 1980 gute Freundinnen von Stevie sind und zur Touring Band gehören.

So kann man dieses Album fast als eine Art Wiedersehen begreifen, schließlich liegt das letzte Studioalbum bereits zehn Jahre zurück! Bereits im Februar 2010 hat Dave Stewart über Twitter verlauten lassen, dass er gemeinsam mit Stevie, Mike Campbell, Waddy Wachtel und Mike Row an einem neuen Album bastelt. Allesamt keinen Unbekannten, sodass es nicht wirklich überraschend ist, welch grandioses Werk bei einem solchen Team entstanden ist. Vor drei Monaten, im Februar, wurde die erste Single „Secret Love“ veröffentlicht, die zugleich auch der Opener des Albums ist. Eine gute Wahl, denn sie ist einprägsam, ruhig und dennoch poppig. Sie zählt fast schon zu den sanftesten Nummern auf „In Your Dreams“, denn besonders die letzten Songs zeigen sich deutlich rockiger.

Stevie hat es aber nicht nur im Studio drauf, sondern auch live. Vom 20. März bis zum 23. April war sie gemeinsam mit Rod Stewart auf „The Heart & Soul Tour“, welche die beiden Urgesteine durch Nordamerika und Städte wie New York, Los Angeles und Tampa geführt hat. In wenigen Tagen beginnt Stevie mit einigen Solo Shows, wird u.a. in Las Vegas und Indio, Kanada auftreten. Ihr Album erscheint hierzulande am 06.05. und dürfte nicht nur von Fans von Stevie Nicks und Fleetwod Mac interessant sein! Das Comeback erscheint wirklich gelungen!
