STEVIE NICKS
Born in 1948, renowned singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks is best known for the time she spent in Fleetwood Mac. However, she has also enjoyed a successful solo career.
Nicks joined the band in 1974 and enjoyed huge success with the 1977 album 'Rumours', which topped the US album charts for 31 weeks.
Fleetwood Mac continued to make albums over the next few years, but Nicks felt herself increasingly drawn to solo work.
In 1981, she released the album 'Bella Donna', which shot to the top of the charts and featured the hits 'Edge of Seventeen' and 'Leather and Lace'.
The following year, she recorded another album with Fleetwood Mac, before putting out a second solo record the following year.
Despite her professional career being on a high, Nicks' health took a turn for the worst in the late 80s when she battled a cocaine addiction, which created a hole in her nasal passage. She later became addicted to the tranquilliser Klonopin.
Nicks beat her addictions in 1993 when she embarked on a detox programme.
She has continued to work throughout the last decade, reuniting once again with Fleetwood Mac in 2009 for a global hits tour.
In 2011, Nicks teamed up with fellow singer Rod Stewart to co-headline The Heart and Soul Tour.
