Update on Neale's situation - From someone that's close to him:
Neale has been going through some serious trouble with his back on nearly the entire SWS tour, and is scheduled for surgery at the end of the month to take care of this issue. Thank you to all of you who have wished him well, and who have been compassionate and understanding of the circumstances. Lindsey's band members are not replaceable, they are his family and have become so over the decades. It's not as easy as calling someone else, rehearsing for a while and getting that same comfort level as the well-oiled machine that they already have. Let's all come together and accept the postponement, however disappointed we may be, and extend positive vibes to the guy who needs it. Thanks!

Tour Dates:
- Dec. 08: Birmingham (Symphony Hall)
- Dec. 09: Salford (The Lowry)
- Dec. 11: Leeds (02 Academy)
- Dec. 12: Edinburgh (Usher Hall)
- Dec. 13: Gateshead (The Sage Gateshead)
- Dec. 15: Dublin, Ireland (Olympia Theatre)
- Dec. 16: Belfast, Ireland (Waterfront Hall Auditorium)
- Dec. 18: Southampton (Southampton Guildhall)

Sad news. But I have loads happening in the first few months of next year - PLEASE dont let a new London date clash with anything!!!!
ReplyDeletetoo bad...
ReplyDeletei wish he would just go along with the tour and do it solo/acoustic.
Does this include Ireland?? This is really annoying!!
ReplyDeleteHEH
ReplyDeleteNeale Heywood doesn't add much to the sound of the band anyway, so Lindsey should just continue on as a three-piece unit. Of course if Lindsey thinks he really needs someone to play two or three chords at the start of 'Tusk' we have plenty of beginners right here who can do that.
ReplyDeleteHello, where is Ray Lindsay???!!!
ReplyDeletehorrible news for everyone involved. and reading idiotic comments like some that have been posted above certainly won't help anybody feel any better.
ReplyDeleteStupidest comment ever. EVER. --->>> "Neale Heywood doesn't add much to the sound of the band anyway, so Lindsey should just continue on as a three-piece unit. ReplyDeleteWishing Neale a speedy recovery. He IS a VERY important part of the band!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you people kidding me? This isn't about someone being a musician and not being able to be replaced.. this is about Lindsey's band being his family and him wanting them to get better. If you don't understand that, you obviously aren't fans to begin with. I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision for anyone. Have some compassion!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Neale!
I too think Neale is easily replaceable. Lindsey shouldn't abandon his current tour dates because of this incident. What if Neale never recovers? Would that mean Lindsey never tours again? Bon Jovi replaced Richie Sambora in the middle of a tour and Richie is far more important to his band than Neale is to Lindsey's. Two words for Lindsey: Don't Stop!
ReplyDeleteEven if it seems disrespectful, I agree Lindsey should go on without him. I mean, we'd all be excited if Lindsey did a tour, just himself and an acoustic...so, really, they shouldnt cancel the dates. If Sharon Celani hurt her back and Stevie rescheduled -cool...but for this guy?? :/ and the chords for tusk are easy
ReplyDelete^^ It's easy to see why you choose to remain anonymous. Because, yeah, clearly all Neale does is play the intro to Tusk. You're an idiot. Did Neale steal your lunch money when you were kids??? Why such hate??? Lindsey's concert has nothing to do with Stevie's, but for the record, and since you brought it up, losing Neale would be much more akin to losing Sharon Celani AND Carlos Rios, both! Neale has toured with Lindsey for 20 years!! Stevie's show has all kinds of people involved. Lindsey's is a small, tight-knit group. Losing any one of them would be major! I doubt Lindsey came to this decision easily.
ReplyDeletesorry - who is Sharon Celani and why is she more important for SN live performance than Neale Heywood is for LB live performance?
ReplyDeleteCouldn't Waddy take Neale's place at least temporarily until Neale gets better? Waddy actually knows how to play the guitar, has a similar style to Lindsey's and would attract a better class of groupies than Neale.
ReplyDeleteNeale sings too. I assume the groupie part is a joke? hahaha.
ReplyDeleteguess Waddy should teleport himself back and forth between Australia and UK on the same days?
ReplyDeleteAnd also, did you really just mean to imply that Neale can't play the guitar?? Am I missing something? What is wrong with you?
ReplyDeleteLindsey just knows that he can't possibly put on the brilliant shows that Stevie did and God forbid if Stevie should do anything better than Lindsey. He's using this as an excuse.
ReplyDeleteIncredibly unprofessional.
ReplyDeleteHaha OK, clearly you've lost your focus ( always just a matter of time ). We were discussing Lindsey's tour, but the urge to make this about Stevie vs Lindsey apparently was too much for you. I'll leave you to your mud slinging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery to Neale!
ReplyDeleteWishing Neale a speedy recovery! Mindless Stevie fans at it again. What a shame. Not sure what she has to do with Neale being in pain.
