The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album
by Ken Caillat with Steven Stiefel
While recording the mellow rock hit “You Make Loving Fun,” Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham laid down solo after solo, feeling himself on a roll. When the studio tracks were used up, he needed to record over solos he had previously played.
At one point, he told the engineer, Ken Caillat, to tape over a solo that Caillat had thought was a pretty sweet take.
“Are you sure?” Caillat asked. “That was really great.”
A frustrated Buckingham shouted at him, “No! Go over it!”
They replaced that solo with a new one, and then Buckingham asked Caillat to play the one from before. When reminded that they had just recorded over it — at Buckingham’s request — the volatile guitarist lost his mind.

Hmm... more written accounts about Lindsey's violent side... first Mick, then Carol Ann, now Ken. Where there's smoke there's fire? I'm sure Lindsey's biggest fans won't be thrilled reading about these episodes, but I'm sure a lot of that was because of booze and drugs. I'm really looking forward to reading this book.
Never new what a woman hater Lindsey was or is. Changed my out look on him. I know he is human,
but he didn't keep his hands to himself. What an asshole. I believe the storms book more and more.
I always believed Carol Ann's book...unless Lindsey's team publicly came out against against the comments. I agree, it was probably the drugs and a little bit of crazy. He seems to take ownership for this stuff. I mean, go insane anyone?
No wonder Lindsey didn't want the band to support this book.
It's strange, because I remember an awards ceremony last year where Ken introduced Lindsey, or presented him with the award. Maybe Lindsey treated Ken like a jerk, and Ken decided "O-KAY! No holds barred in THIS book!"
Attacking artists under the guise of politically correct objections is being used by SVR agent Ken Calliet. Doh't believe him. If the destruction of Lindsey's reputation is your aim, forget it!!!Lindsey is a creative genius every bit as legitimate as Chopin or Bach. It's terrible that Ken K is trying to rip Lindsey down - IT WON'T WORK. Lindsey has reached a point beyond which ordinary people can hurt him.. Yet we all fear for Lindseuy's soul, swirling in the winds of L.A.....
