Stevie Nicks feels positive that 1973's Buckingham Nicks, the sole joint album with then-lover Lindsey Buckingham will see a release next year.

The pair's pre-Fleetwood Mac album, which has never been released on CD, celebrates it's 40th anniversary next September. Over the years, Buckingham Nicks has gained a legion of die-hard fans, who have sought out pristine vinyl pressings of the Polydor release for major money. A 30th anniversary release was tentatively scheduled back in 2003, but never materialized.
It was the album's closing number, "Frozen Love" that gained Mick Fleetwood's attention while scouting Los Angeles' Sound City recording studio. The album's producer, Keith Olsen, played the track as a demonstration of the studio's capabilities and hooked Fleetwood who soon asked Buckingham -- and by extension -- Nicks to join Fleetwood Mac. Two of the Buckingham Nicks tracks would be included on future albums -- Nicks' "Crystal" found a home on Fleetwood Mac's 1975 self-titled collection and a live version of "Don't Let Me Down Again" was featured on 1980's Fleetwood Mac Live.
Stevie Nicks told us that plans are definitely underway to prep their first Buckingham Nicks release on CD: "This is, the coming up year is the 40 years. So, what we're thinking is we might do something to celebrate the 40 years thing and we're going to try and put the record out. The only reason why it hasn't come out is because it kinda belongs to three different people and it's like owning a car, a third of a car. And everybody has to be on the same page and nobody has ever been on the same page. So we're hoping this year people will get on the same page and we can put it out since this is it's 40th."
We asked her if there's any chance for a few Buckingham Nicks shows to promote the new set: "Very possibly! Very possibly! 'Cause we. . . that's easy. Yeah."

Wow! I hope this really comes off, particularly the B&N shows! I wonder who the third party is? Keith Olsen?
They both look so young and beautiful in this picture - it's easier to understand the heartbreak of their relationship looking at this picture because it seemed they truly did once have everything. Ah, success!
Luckily, I found a SEALED LP, with the promo sticker! Of course, it is still unopened! Also, I have a copy to enjoy on my record player. It would be a SELL OUT for sure if they reunited for this BEAUTIFUL collection of music! I await the day!
I bought a bootled CD on EBay at least ten years ago and it was made from the original masters, so it sounds wonderful. I would suppose a lot of other fans have it also. It also includes at the end the single remix of "Crying In the Night", which I guess was the first single. And the mix is very different, much more electic guitar, more of a rock edge to it. Nonetheless, I would be thrilled to have it officially released. I only hope they don't mess with it and change anything.
My friend bought me a Buckingham/Nicks album on vinyl in excellent condition. I have it framed on my wall with some of my most precious Stevie Nicks memorabilia.
I can see where there might be different opinions on releasing it. Mainly, do they release it as I was first released without going in to remix or remaster it? Also, if it was released to coincide with next years tour it would be a great opportunity to perform some of the tracks as a mini set within the mac set. Definitly a ticket sellling treat.
WOO-HOO!!! I hope it's true.
CD - OK
Tour - :( no thanks!
Just more of Lindsey solo please
Absolutely wonderful news. I also have the CD pressing from eBay, but the "tour" if they were to do a tour and just play the entire B/N album ... they should realize this would PACK the stadiums and all venues would sell out. People love Stevie, Lindsey, and Fleetwood Mac, but a chance to see them doing songs never done live in 40+ years? Yes, Please. :)
This is great news! They've talked about this before, soooo I really hope it comes true! I kinda see this as the last chance to re-release this before it is really too late! Also, they could cross-promtote this on the 2013 FM tour by performing a couple of songs; Don't Let Me Down Again & Frozen Love!!!! That would excite the hardcores & take some sting away from it being a "back catalogue" tour again.
I'm curious to know who the third party is? Other than Stevie and Lindsey, who else would have a say? Another songwriter they collaborated with?
I speculated in the opening comment that it's Keith Olsen, since he was responsible for bringing BN down to L.A. and produced their record. He was also the one who facilitated the connections that got them their record deal. Stevie also cleaned his house!
I hope so....."im gettin older too"!
Tired of waiting for this to happen in my lifetime.
Join the movement. Let the 3 people know how much we love and needs this album on CD!

There is no better time than now! Dave Grohl's "Sound City" and SXSW have generated a lot of interest among old and new listeners. 40 is just a number... 30 or 31 is just as good!
I hope the release happens, they are truly magical and mystical modern day Kathy and Heathcliff. Their music demonstrates that connection

Buckingham Knicks was truly one of the best albums ever released. I have been looking for it for 30 years. Please, please make it happen. The copies I am sure are good but this original studio album is a masterpiece. Lindsay and Stevie were too talented to let this slip into oblivion. Hoping there's a master still out there. I would love to have the original and one of them together now. I've never forgotten about how incredible it was. The writing the execution is one of a kind. I'm tempted to buy a re recorded but think I will wait now. Thanks for the inspiration and hope it's coming. I really need the therapy (that's what I call my music. I'm ill and music makes me so happy. What GREAT news :)
Please Please Please release Buckingham Nicks on CD...that would be my dream come true.
March 2014 and still nothing,,i will believe it when see it,boooooo
A CD would be OK, but do it right. What I really want is a 180 gram audiophile vinyl. If you want to listen to good music listen on the best possible medium, and that is vinyl.
