STEVIE ON OPRAH'S MASTER CLASS?
Sheri Salata, Executive Producer at Oprah Winfrey's Network OWN, tweeted earlier today that she's
"hoping to shoot the brilliant and legendary Ms. Nicks on Master Class soon."
Does this mean it's something they've been working on, that it's booked, or is it just a 'hope' of Ms. Salata's?

In any case... I love the idea of Stevie appearing on the show... I've caught a few of the episodes of the show myself and have to say that these shows are extremely interesting, thought-provoking presentations of each guest featured. Each episode of Oprah's Master Class focuses on one person's journey or story thus far, what they've learned in life and about themselves and what others can learn from their experiences. Each person is hand-picked by Oprah for their unique impact on the world.
Stevie certainly has had a unique impact on the world over the last 35 or so years and I think she's the perfect candidate to be featured. Don't you? Sound off in the comments.

SWEET!
ReplyDeleteI'm betting that it's a done deal to have Stevie on the show and it's just a matter of when they can actually shoot it. Maybe in between Heart and Soul Gigs, Stevie wil make the time to go to the Harpo Studio. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for it as long as Gayle doesn't make a surprise appearance half way through the show and start needling Stevie about who she's "boinked" during her illustrious career. :-)
ReplyDeleteMaster Class is by far the best series on OWN. I've seen every episode. After the first episode I concluded that this is the most well-produced interview/documentary show I have ever seen. It's of higher quality than most PBS documentary series. It is unique in that the majority of the show consists of the subject speaking directly to the camera. Neither the questions nor the person conducting the interview are heard/seen on camera. The B-roll is minimal and always pertinent to the immediate topic being explained by the interviewee. There are only about a dozen episodes of Master Class to date. This is not a mass-produced show. Each episode is carefully crafted. Even the episodes with guests who I thought I would care little about moved me greatly. Stevie Nicks on Master Class would surpass any interview or documentary in which Stevie has participated in her entire life. Let's all hope it happens. Bravo Sheri Salata for the vision.
ReplyDeleteI think Stevie would be perfect for this. She is a master class unto herself. I have not seen Oprah's Master Class, but if Oprah does have Stevie on the show, I hope and pray that the content surpasses the cursory surface-level interview she gave Stevie when Stevie was on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011.
ReplyDeleteI've been tweeting Sheri alot for this!! Bravo OWN Network!! Ms nicks will be the best one yet!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps if this happens, it will make up for the way too short, yet sub-par, superficial and narrow focused interview Stevie endured on The Oprah Show in 2011! Stevie deserved a much larger platform for someone of her legend & legacy. I'd only be excited at this point if we got something truly different and groundbreaking! Which I believe Oprah's master class is about!? We shall see...
ReplyDeleteI hope they get this idea going. An opportunity to see Stevie outside of a studio or on stage. I hope it happens .
ReplyDeleteHURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't know how it benefits Stevie to appear on a low-rated show on a network that's been by all accounts an artistic and financial disaster from day 1. She should aim much higher - as in those vacant American Idol slots.
ReplyDeleteThe last comment about stevie american idol i guess u really don't know her.she would really be out touring that what she loves doing not taking lots of time off for american idol.
ReplyDeleteOne season would be sufficient to raise her profile and revive her career. Look at Tyler and Lopez. It isn't as big a commitment as you think, as Ellen was able to do Simon's show, her own show and tons of endorsements to boot. Stevie could figure it out.
