Dr. Stephen Gruber: "Stevie Nicks - Awesome performance at #celebrationofscience."

Setlist and comments from someone attending the event: (Thanks to both below for the details)

"I was at both shows in DC. On Friday she sang "Soldiers Angel" at the Natioal Portrait Gallery and then on Saturday at The Kennedy Center she did "Landslide", "Rhiannon", "Edge Of Seventeen" and "Dreams". After Edge the DC political audience wents nuts, applauding like crazy. They had planned to sing John Lennon's "Imagine" at the end with Stevie, Babyface and Melissa Manchester, and during rehearsal it sounded wonderful. Stevie sang the first verse. But the show went very long, so they cut it at the last minute. The show was filmed, but they are not sure where it will air. Perhaps on PBS. Whoopi Goldberg did a great job hosting also."

Comment from someone attending Friday:

"I saw her on Friday and she spoke eloquently about her work with wounded soldiers, the progress that has been made with prosthetics but that there was still so much more needed to help those with physical and brain injuries. Audience included scientists and decision makers who could make a difference in this area. She ended with Soldiers Angel. Very, very moving."

I was the person above who was at both shows and I spoke with Waddy Wachtel both days. I told his while I love "Secret Love", I wished that they had released "Annabel Lee" as the first single. He was amazed and said that during the whole year of making "In Your Dreams" he kept telling Stevie the same thing. He said to her that "Annabel Lee" was "her song" and should have been the single. I asked him if the record company didn't realize what a famous Edger Allen Poe poen it was, and he said they didn't care and were too stupid to understand the potential publicity it could have gotten. We both agreed that not only did Stevie put such a great poem to music, but she put it to music beautifully. I have never had much respect for Warner Bros. Records and how they have promoted Stevie's and Fleetwood Mac's releases and now I have absolutely no respect for them. They don't have a clue.

i think they should have released "IYD" song first cos it rocks. and and why doesn't she do that one more often. i think it's a great song to stir up interest in the cd. then come out with something like Moonlight, Annabel Lee....anyway, i didn't care for the fact that Secret Love and For What it's Worth were the first 2 singles.
