This February, MAX celebrates the 35th anniversary of the legendary FLETWOOD MAC album RUMOURS.
RUMOURS made the band one of the most iconic bands of the 1970s and garnered wide critical praise, earned the Grammy for Album of the Year, and has now sold more than 40 million copies worldwide since its 1977 debut.
Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks recorded RUMOURS against a backdrop personal turmoil, chronicling their raw emotions in songs like ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Gold Dust Woman’ and ‘Dreams’, the latter becoming the band’s first number one smash.
Premieres Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 9:30pm - on MaxTV
thanks I'll be watching and recording :-)
ReplyDeleteI love vintage Fleetwood Mac! I equally appreciate the evolution of all of its members. Stevie's "You Can't Fix This' is one of her most impassioned vocals of all time.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen an extended video version of the Rumours photo shoot? Just wondering...
ReplyDeleteI hope the Rosebud film is more than the 30 minutes that MAX showed tonight on the DVD that comes with the Deluxe edition of the Rumours 35 year release . I loved it but surely it has more content that was shown on MAX.
ReplyDeleteI think our Stevie's wearing false eyelashes in that clip (I'm not being superficial, just observant, but if you think I am, give me "40 lashes":)
ReplyDeleteNope. The Rosebud footage disc that comes with the 6 part Rumours set is only about 30 minutes. I was bummed too.
ReplyDeleteGeez, I've seen excerpts on YouTube which stretched to two hours in length: the photo shoot, the saki and impressive food spread in Japan as the band receives gold(?) records for "Rumours", the zoomed-in crotch shot of Lindsey which causes him to sternly rebuke the cameraman as a "frustrated porn director"... I, too, was disappointed that the DVD was only 30 minutes in length. But I guess the original "Rosebud" film was a promo piece meant to be sent overseas to play on TV, much like the ABBA TV specials from the same era?

I want to see it here in Texas!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the film. To see it restored is absolutely amazing. However, some bonus performances from the studio rehearsals or the Santa Monica concert would have been great. In this day and age; just put it all out. If not now; when? Wait any longer and we will be too old to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
