Stevie Nicks In Your Dreams Documentary Available This Spring on VOD and Digital Download

IN YOUR DREAMS COMING TO VOD (Video on Demand) and Digital Download - Late Spring

Virgil Films has acquired U.S. VOD and digital download rights to the Stevie Nicks documentary “In Your Dreams” for a release on these platforms in the late spring.

The film, centered on the Fleetwood Mac singer’s making of the 2011 album of the same name, was screened at South by Southwest earlier this month. Nicks co-directed and co-produced with Dave Stewart.

The movie will premiere Sunday at the Landmark Theater in Los Angeles. It has a one-day theatrical release on April 2 in more than 75 cities via Abramorama.

The VOD deal was negotiated by Joe Amodei of Virgil Films and John Beug and Scott Pascucci of SN Productions.

Variety
What are Stevie Nicks' earliest music memories? The legendary Grammy winner and Fleetwood Mac songstress taps into her roots and songwriting inspiration in her intimate new documentary In Your Dreams.
"My one music memory that I actually have was when my parents moved from Phoenix to Los Angeles when I was about three; my dad bought a bar and my mom cooked for it," Stevie tells Dave Stewart, whom she collaborated with on her new album. "My granddad and I would sit and he would put me up on the table and he'd sing and I would kind of tap dance, even though I didn't really know I was tap dancing, and I would kind of sing."

Featuring many great candid moments and as treasure trove of photos from Stevie's youth, In Your Dreams chronicles the musical journey in making the critically acclaimed album In Your Dreams with the former Eurythmics star, which Stevie called "the greatest year of my life" and a joyful experience like "the day the circus came to town." The normally semi-reclusive Stevie allowed cameras inside her magical old mansion high atop the hills of L.A. for the doc with a wild cast of musicians and friends, including Mick Fleetwood and Reese Witherspoon.

You can see In Your Dreams for one night only in theaters -- April 2 -- and Stevie is also embarking on a new tour, click here for details.

I'm glad that Stevie and Dave have figured out a way to squeeze as much revenue as possible from this documentary before dumping it out onto the market as a hard copy DVD. With the demise of brick-and-mortar outlets for buying CDs and DVDs, digital downloads and flash theatrical releases are the new normal for projects like this.

This is really good news!!! Ive already seen the documentary in San Rafael. This does go down in history.

I'm still hoping for an actual hard copy on DVD/BluRay to add to my collection. I know that if it did, it would sale well into the thousands. Kimberly Koontz
