The 'US' Generation Documentary

Well this should excite the masses!  Fleetwood Mac are part of an upcoming documentary on The 1982 US Festival.  Check out the official trailer below... Fleetwood Mac come in at about the 2 minute mark where they are shown on stage, in crisp clear footage, singing a bit of Go Your Own Way... They are also on stage introducing Apple co-founder and US Festival visionary, Steve Wozniak.

This looks so cool, I can't wait to see it!  The documentary will in some format be released to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the Festival this Labour Day September 3, 2012.  Originally scheduled for a Labour Day release the documentary has been pushed back a bit as they are awaiting final interview approvals from key artists that performed.

The 'US' Generation Documentary
ICON Television Music, UNUSON Corporation and Plum Moving Media announce the making of the definitive 1982 US Festival feature length documentary.

“This film is the only authorized and sanctioned documentary of the 1982 US Festival”, according to Carlos Harvey, CFO, UNUSON.  ”It captures the cultural essence of the festival and tells the behind-the-scenes stories the fans will appreciate. After 30 years it seems like the right time so the fans can relive the experience and we can create new fans too”.
On a blistering hot Labor day weekend in 1982, legendary Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak’s vision played-out in the 110 degree California sun.

Over 375,000 people gathered at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernadino, for three days of music and technology.
The documentary will feature legendary performances and interviews. The concert headliners included:
     ~ B-52′s
     ~ Fleetwood Mac
     ~ Police
     ~ Ramones
     ~ Santana
     ~ Talking Heads
~ Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
“The release of the documentary will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the event on Labor Day, September 3rd, 2012", said Bruce Gibb, co-owner of Plum Moving Media, Inc.  “Our Milwaukee based company is delighted to be partnered with UNUSON and ICON. Last year Palladia HD channel aired the 1983 us Festival highlights, which included Stevie solo doing "Outside The Rain" and "Stand Back". She was so high that night that I think these were the best performances she gave that she didn't seem to out of it. The other reason the clips of other songs on YouTube from her show are terrible is because they were never professionally mixed and the sound mix they used was off the sound board and her back up singers are much louder than Stevie and sound out of tune and also Stevie's mike mix got cut to a very low volume about a third of the way through her set and that ruined the rest of her songs. If they ever mixed it all professionally it would have been OK.

And at the 1982 US Festival Fleetwood Mac had played Miami the night before and flown overnight back to LA, and you can see that Stevie looks very tired throughout their set.

But nonetheless, I can't wait to see what they release.

I've owned the unedited full Stevie set from 1983 "US" on VHS bootleg for a couple decades. I love it. The sound mix is raw and not perfect, but have watched it over a hundred times..LOVE IT

Greetings to the Band,
I've been a huge fan since the eight-track days, I even have unopened CD's, I've DVD's that I've had to replace due to excessive use. Unfortunately being in the military I've missed seeing the one band that I can really relate to plus you set a very high standard for those that would follow in the business.
I'm so hoping that I'll see you when you come to Little Rock, Arkansas. The one thing that I'm having a difficult time with is this American Express credit card B.S. after all it was your talent and your fans that put you up top. I'm sure there are reasons that I'm in no way savvy to...what about the hard core fans that don't have an American Express card so, it's kind of like being punished.
Despite this deal I'm really looking forward to one of the best bands of my time. Thanks for all the great music that you've given us over the many years....OH yes, Stevie I do believe that you will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

TONY
