That first line sounds like "moonlight..." not "one line"....thoughts?
ReplyDeleteNice...
ReplyDeleteI think playing the this album from start to finish as She sequenced it will leave even the doubters rethinking their opinions.
ReplyDeleteThere is a definite organic sound going on throughout and it will just make sense when the entire work as a whole is blasting out a good set of speakers.
Some say she's "over produced" and others say "under produced".
I love the " demo sound" She decided to do on this album. It remains faithful to the demos we know and love and for a collection of songs that didn't make the minimum standard for a Mac or Solo record, the production is brilliant.
I can't wait to get in the car...drive a couple hundred miles with the CD player on repeat.
Btw, I believe it's "moonlight" and not "one line..."
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds tasty! After hearing "The Dealer," I was starting to get uneasy about the new album. But now, after hearing those other preview clips, I think it has the potential to be one of the most solid, satisfying albums of her entire solo career. Well done!
ReplyDeleteMama like
ReplyDeleteEnough of "The Dealer" comments already. We get it. The horse is dead...no need to continue beating it.
ReplyDeleteteasers are just that knowone should never under estimate Stevie ever!!! I can't wait, I can't wait
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this. I just ordered the Lithograph set. Every music clip sounds so wonderful. Her voice sounds so vibrant on the last couple of clips!!
ReplyDeleteDaddy like!!!
ReplyDeleteTo expand upon a comment I made on the "Mabel Normand" snippet thread, this snippet continues to prove '24KG' is going to be a very musically diverse album. Listen to "The Dealer" then listen to the snippets of "If You Were My Love, "I Don't Care," "Mabel Normand," and now "Belle Fleur..."
ReplyDeleteSequencing the standard and deluxe versions must have been fun for Stevie; she's talked for years about how she enjoys sequencing an album after the songs are completed because she enjoys the flow of an album. If you compare side-by-side the track listing for the standard edition (which I did pre-order from iTunes in addition to the deluxe set with Photobook I pre-ordered from Warner Bros) the track order is vastly different. They could have just plugged the two bonus tracks in somewhere, but they didn't. It's interesting to think that the inclusion of "Twisted" and "Watch Chain" threw the sequencing off so much from the standard edition she re-sequenced the entire thing. I have also always felt sequencing is very important, so I'm excited to play the standard version through and then the deluxe version ... just to see how different they feel.
I can't wait to hear how "Twisted" turned out. I hope it sounds more like The Woodstock Version than the one she released with Lindsey. The Woodstock version is so gypsy-esque and Stevie sounding!
ReplyDeleteNow this should have been the single !!!! Just this little clip has me hooked. I was worried that this project wouldn't have the usual catchy hooks that pull me in and make me fall in love with all new Stevie songs. Nothing to worry about so far. Just love this clip and this would be a way better single than The Dealer but probably doesn't matter. Not sure how much airplay any new Stevie or FM music will get. My station said they are not interested. Just playing the newer more popular "artists" if you can call them that. Looking forward to more song bits and can't wait for the new album. Just wish there could be a tour so we could hear this live.
ReplyDeleteIn reply to the comment above... Am I the only one who thinks "Twisted" is totally out of place on this album? It was never circulated as a demo among collectors prior to it's release as all these other cuts were for ten or twenty years. It appeared out of nowhere in the free live shows Stevie did in '96 in Florida and Boston. Then it came out on a soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteTWISTED was also included on the ENCHANTED box-set in demo form. Bizarre that it's showing up again as a "rarity."
ReplyDeleteWell I really think this will be done in concert soon enough for a (YES) Buckingham & Nicks tour so why not let the song resurface. till this happens. Unlike someone above said, I happen to love Lindsey's and Stevie's version of the song myself.
ReplyDeleteI am also curious about the inclusion of "Twisted" since it's not a 'rarity,' in fact I'm fairly certain this song was written in the 1990s. We already have a fully produced version of this song ... perhaps she just really didn't like the way the Twister soundtrack version of it turned out? Who knows. While I don't consider it a complaint, as I'm really wanting to hear how she reworked it, the inclusion of "Twisted" is my only real "huh?" of the album's tracklist.
ReplyDeleteJust heard the song 'Lady" it is knocking on doors. Sounds pretty close to the original. Can't wait for oct.7th
