Due to the blizzard warning and state of emergency issued by Gov. Gina Raimondo, the Providence Journal is reporting that -- "Fleetwood Mac: Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and crew are scheduled to play at the Dunk on Wednesday night. Their stage crew traveled to Providence Monday and the performers are due to drive from New York City to Rhode Island Wednesday but if the state of emergency isn’t lifted by early Wednesday, the concert will be pushed to Thursday."

So depending on the severity of the storm and whether or not travel is allowed on the roads, the Fleetwood Mac show scheduled for Wednesday, may be pushed to Thursday. Please check with the Dunkin' Donut Centre before heading out on Wednesday. They will likely post updates to their facebook page as well.
Update: 4:00PM ET January 27th - The show is still scheduled as planned.
please keep this updated because that involves me going to this show thank you for the heads up!!!
ReplyDeleteif the show is postponed until Thursday it would allow road crews to do their thing and ensure safer travel for everyone. Those of us in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island are currently under travel bans. This includes planes, trains, automobiles and buses. Please consider postponement to permit us to dig out and see The Mac! Thank you and stay warm! Elizabeth
ReplyDeletePlease reschedule the show. So many fans are first responders, plow drivers, and other emergency personnel. When their mandated hours end, we will be at 72 hours...my husband included. WE NEED A DATE NIGHT! They need sleep first so they can attend...otherwise, it may be a very empty venue with very sad fans!!! Thanks for the consideration and support of little Rhody and other NE Fans :)
ReplyDeleteNo, please leave the show on Wednesday. Many fans have spent a lot of money to get there for the show, if it is moved it will cost huge amounts more money to change travel plans. And some people won't be able to, so they will be playing to a half empty arena.
ReplyDeleteBesides, the storm was nowhere near as bad as they had predicted. People will be able to get there for the show on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous^ not sure where you live but here in MA we have over 32" of snowfall. I am completely snowed in and cannot get out. I want to see the show as much as anyone but hope the band will reschedule for the safety of their fans. I should not have to risk life and limb to get to a concert. The travel ban has not been lifted here.
ReplyDeleteI think attendance would suffer more if the show goes on on Wednesday. A lot of people won't have been able to dig out in time. Travel bans still in effect will make it impossible for many to get to the show. Shouldn't the safety of the fans and of the band members themselves be the top priority? Please do the responsible thing and postpone until Thursday.
ReplyDeleteAs of right now...the northeastern part of New England is still experiencing whiteout conditions from this ongoing blizzard and high force winds. NYC/NJ did not get these conditions but the rest of us got pummeled. Boston is still shut down! I am north of Boston and my husband is also a first responder and he has an emergency shift to get through before we leave. Under the best of conditions we are over three hours away. Either day will leave some patrons out of luck. We are still planning on Wednesday but Thursday would be better. Good luck and stay safe everyone
ReplyDeleteEven when the travel ban is lifted Massachusetts Gov Baker said "...there's still a lot of snow to move". Providence will still have a parking ban so crews can continue to remove snow which includes sidewalks. New Englanders know that just because the snow stops falling that doesn't mean the work is done. Please seriously consider postponing until Thursday so that people attending will be safe. Thank you

ReplyDeleteStill snowing here in New England! Still gotta dig out! Governors are requesting people stay off the roads even when the travel bans are lifted. Crews are working triple overtime to move the mountains of snow. Schools remain closed on Wednesday as well as municipal offices. Public transportation will resume on a limited basis. Please postpone this concert until Thursday!!! Thank you for your consideration. Wanna see Fleetwood Mac. We really really really do! Come on and meet us halfway. This is probably our last time to witness Mick, Christine, Stevie, John and Lindsey rocking it out up here in the Northeast! I'm begging ya here!!!
ReplyDeleteJust read the http://www.dunkindonutscenter.com/ they are playing tonight everybody go on the site
ReplyDeleteDunkin has not been updated. Postponed or not?
ReplyDeleteThis won't have any effect on the show on Friday night at the Verizon Center will it?
ReplyDeletePlease keep the show on as planned for Wednesday. If all us fans who have traveled long distances can get there, then you locals should be able to also. Those of us who traveled a long way, had to get there in case if does happen Wednesday and we've made it without that much trouble. But having to pay to stay another day will be horrible, trying to kind hotel rooms, changing flight and train bookings; a lot of extra expense will have to be made. You locals live with this weather every winter, buck up and shovel your driveway and get there.
ReplyDeleteBuck up? Thanks for that wise advise. Obviously you have never had to find a place for two feet of snow or drive on icy roads.
ReplyDeleteBuck up to buck up. You seem to have no concern for those of us who spent large amounts of money to travel to Providence and managed to get here. I came from where there was also a winter storm going on the here where there was another, and it took many hours. But what choice did I have: sick waiting and then having the show happen today and missing it? So I braved the weather and got here, trampling through the height of the storm yesterday. And now today I am looking out the window of my hotel and the roads are being cleared and people are getting around. I am sorry for anyone on a side street who has to figure out how to get to the show. But it still costs everyone involved more to postpone the show. And also makes things so much more complicated for so many. As I said I live where there is winter also, and we all know that many times you simply have to make the best of it, leave very early and do what you can. I don't want anyone to miss the show, but the extra cost to those of us who have traveled here would be quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteI just spoke to the Dunkin Donuts Box Office and the show is going on tonight as planned.
ReplyDeleteThe storm can't hold us back... Providence TONIGHT! #TheMacIsBack
ReplyDeleteIt's posted on Micks facebook page...Hope you all make it safely
Hey buck up! I'm here in my hotel, too! As I said previously, either day would inconvience someone. Let's just go and enjoy the show. I'm glad you are here and wish you safe travels home. The Mac is back!!!
ReplyDeleteKentucky has a snow storm coming in Monday thru Tuesday night. When will ticket holders to the scheduled concert at the Yum Center in Louisville on Feb 17th know if show is rescheduled? Thanks Dave
ReplyDeleteWhy is the stage crew in Providence, for a show on Wednesday, when they have a show in Louisville on Tuesday ???
