OUT NOW IN THE UK:
Buckingham McVie are on the cover of Uncut, and inside in an exclusive interview, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie reveal all about their new album as a duo, and how it fits into the storied past, present and future of Fleetwood Mac. “It’s that umbilical cord that can’t be broken,” says Christine. “It just pulls you back.”
Could someone transcribe this interview!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis very sluggish to non-existent roll-out for Buckingham McVie is ominous indeed.
ReplyDeleteProbably keep hoping Stevie will drop in and add 2 songs and some backing vocals. 2 days work for her. She already has trunkloads of unused and completely never heard material. Her tour ends shortly. They know they can't really tour decently without her & seriously - do people really buy CDs or downloads anymore?
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. They DON'T need her to make the sound. They are the core musicians always have been. I'm sure they'll find an audience. Or do their songs on the next tour.
ReplyDelete99% of this albums audience will only listen to it through a free streaming service or Youtube. Stevie is right about that. Older, well-established bands like Fleetwood Mac have a built-in, album buying audience, but the younger fans certainly aren't going to spend $13.99 buying an album on iTunes. They will, however, take a listen to it on YouTube, since the commitment level is low. That being said, the album MAY sell 75,000 copies but may rack up millions of views online. But I'm sure since each member of the band just made $30 million on the "On With The Show" tour, they're not doing this for the money.
ReplyDeleteI'm giddy with anticipation for this album. New music is what artists do. They create art. Who cares if anything sells millions anymore? I don't even care for the tours anymore. Same old.
ReplyDeleteIt's all finished I've no doubt. They are not waiting for stevie, so far it's a Buckingham Mcvie title. With the Mac rhythm section on drum and bass. I look forward to it. Will be very refreshing.
