Fleetwood Mac Rank No.14 on Pollstar Year End Top 20 Worldwide Tours. Details here

Fleetwood Mac grossed nearly 100 million dollars performing 67 shows in 63 cities in 2013 landing them at No.14 on Pollstars Year End Top 20 Worldwide Tours tally.  Almost 900,000 fans from US/Canada, UK and Europe saw the band between April and December.  Pollstars full 2013 touring report will come available January 9th.

Just to compare to the last time the band toured I dug out the 2009 Year End Results from Pollstar - they ranked No.13 in the world for the Unleashed Tour grossing 84.9 million from 79 shows in 72 cities. What you have to look at is the increase in the Average Ticket Price and the Average Attendance per show for 2013 - both of which are way up, which increases your per show take.  The band did very well in 2013!

NEW Interview: Mick Fleetwood re-confirms Fleetwood Mac World Tour - Begins March 2013

Mick Fleetwood spoke with Mike St. James of The Eagle 92.9 about The Blues Masters Concert he was to Host on Friday August 31, 2012 in Lincoln Nebraska.  Mick sadly couldn't attend because of some personal issues that came up.

FLEETWOOD MAC TALK
During the interview Mick talks about Lindsey's one man show plus Stevie touring with Rod which segues into Mick re-confirming next years Fleetwood Mac plans where come March, 2013 Fleetwood Mac will be starting a world tour with rehearsals set for January and February. Mike St. James asks Mick about the conflicting reports where Mick was quoted as saying he was pessimistic about Fleetwood Mac ever getting back together again [Playboy Magazine "The Ghost of Fleetwood Mac" April, 2012] vs Stevie's recent TV interview where she confirms the band will tour again in 2013.  Mick states that at the time he thought with Stevie working her solo album so hard playing all over the world, he said he figured she would need and want to take at least a year off as a break and was afraid it would be too late.  But said much to his surprise, Stevie's really excited to get back together to play. Christine Mcvie was talked about and Mick says there's no chance of Christine coming back.  They've let go of that hope many years ago.  Mick said she nearly came up on stage the last time they played Wembely in the UK in 2009.  But at the last minute she backed out and decided just to watch the show from the soundboard.

So it looks like this tour could roll-out much in the same way the 2009 Unleashed Tour did where shows began in March, 2009.  Tickets and the first round of dates for that tour were announced in mid-December, 2008... If this tour follows the same path, we have a bit of time yet before we hear when and where the band will play.

Check out the full interview at The Eagle 92.9.  It's about 16 minutes long

As the grand ring master of Fleetwood Mac, the venerable drummer has finally secured the agreement of all band members to launch a new tour in 2013, after Stevie Nicks has concluded promoting her current solo album, "In Your Dreams."

The Mac last hit the road in 2009.

"Everyone's on board," Mick announces. "We're all on the same page. Stevie's been like Lindsey who went off and did his thing and was at one point ready to do some touring, but couldn't figure it out. And it went on and on.

"After 40-odd years of whatever our thing is, you have to learn to get over being disappointed when you think something is happening and then it's not. But none of this could have worked out. So we're planning to start touring in March. There's a commitment to one leg and if it's a happy leg then we will continue. It would be foolish not to.

"It's really about demand. You never quite know if you leave the scene. Bands get the shock of their lives when they haven't toured for years and they have half full places they're hurting. The good thing about us is we have a very strong audience and we don't over put ourselves out there. So when we do go out people are enthused and we usually do very well."

Although they will embark on a major trek without promoting a new album, some of the members have recently collaborated on new Mac music.

"Lindsey, myself and John (McVie) are hoping Stevie will enjoy at least doing an EP," he says. "Lindsey and I have put some great music together. I went to LA for six weeks and we cut eight tracks as a calling card that we really want to do something. I think some of that should see the light of day. It's really good and fresh and young. And if everyone's happy, maybe that will be the beginnings of an album.
