Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" back the Top 20 Around The World

As Fleetwood Mac fans continue to celebrate the life of Christine McVie following her death last month, two of the band’s albums appear in this week’s UK Top 20, Rumours at 11 and compilation 50 Years – Don’t Stop at 15.

In the first full week since the death of revered band member Christine McVie, Fleetwood Mac’s iconic album Rumours surges 24-11, while their hits set 50 Years: Don’t Stop jumps 23-15, with sales of 7,301 and 6,135 respectively being up 103.71% and 67.33% week-on-week. Rumours is at its highest position for 87 weeks.

Rumours is back in the US Billboard Top 20 this week at 20 up from 32 last week. Rumours rounds out the top 10 of Top Album Sales, vaulting 21-10 with 10,000 sold (up 31%) following the death of the band’s Christine McVie on Nov. 30. Greatest Hits also re-enters the Top 200 at 98.

25 YEARS OF FLEETWOOD MAC'S "THE DANCE" - NEW HD VIDEOS

2022 marks the 25th Anniversary of the release of Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance". The live TV event and subsequent album and DVD release brought the famous 5 Fleetwood Mac members back together and back to life frankly in 1997 after struggling as a band in the 1990s. This was again sidelined by the departure or retirement of Christine McVie in early 1998 after their last commitment.

To celebrate, Fleetwood Mac and Rhino Records have been releasing HD versions of the videos from the live event. So far they've dropped on the Fleetwood Mac Youtube page "Landslide", Silver Springs and The Chain.

Can't help but think they are gearing up for a re-issue remaster of the album, hopefully, expanded with all the tracks performed and a Blu-ray or better version of the original DVD release. That would be pretty amazing.

Fleetwood Mac's 'Never Going Back Again' was certified Gold in the UK on April 29, 2022, signifying sales of 400K units. Not officially released as a single, the song appeared as the b-side to the officially released 'Rumours' single 'Don't Stop' in 1977.
