Review: Stevie Nicks Mystic Lake Ampitheater - Twin Cities Metro

A Landslide of Awesome!
By: Mary O'Regan
Twin Cities Metro

The best thing about Stevie Nicks is that she knows she's a rockstar and she's not afraid to say it. During her enthralling performance at Mystic Lake Ampitheater last night, Nicks told several stories about her life as a musical legend, including one about visiting soldiers in Iraq—a surprise medevac left her humbled as her celebrity status went out the window and parametics pushed her toward the exit. "I arrived a rockstar and left a soldier's mother," she said, before launching into "Soldier's Angel," off her new album, "In Your Dreams."

One of the best parts of the evening was when Nicks introduced her band members. She'd known many of them for thirty or forty years, which made for some gracious, touching stories. She recalled attempting to film a music video at El Mirage Lake in California. They drove for miles, trying to find a lake that got further and further away the closer they came.

12. End of Time (Acoustic)
13. Seeds We Sow (Electric)

Quite different from the standard album versions.  Not sure if these are exclusive tracks to the mp3 album download or if Amazon or another retailer will offer the hard copy album with the bonus tracks... Hope it's the latter if this is the mp3 album.

In any case... They sound great!

Fleetwood Mac: No Recording Plans...Yet

Fleetwood Mac have no definite commitments for the future.

Talking to Classic Rock, guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Buckingham denied reports that the band are currently working on a new album.

“We’ve nothing like that going on at all. Stevie (Nicks) has been busy touring and I’m just about to release my new solo album (Seeds We Sow, out on September 5) and have plans to tour on the back of that. So, right now nothing’s booked for the band.

“However, I would be very surprised if we don’t make a new album at some point. Currently, I have eight or nine new song ideas, some of which might fit in with Fleetwood Mac.”

Review: Stevie Nicks, old and new | Mystic Lake Casino Amphitheatre

by: Claude Peck
Star Tribune

Stevie Nicks, whose distinctive voice helped propel Fleetwood Mac into the pop-music record books, is still recording and touring at 63. Her fans caused a miles-long traffic jam Wednesday night near Mystic Lake Casino in the Twin Cities, where she and her tight 10-piece band performed at the new outdoors amphitheater.

After a sundown set by warmup act Michael Grimm, Nicks appeared onstage without much diva fanfare. The 5-foot-one pop star wore stacked black boots, chain-metal-fringed gloves, a crimson shawl over a black dress, her long blond hair catching the cool breeze. She opened her 14-song set with the uptempo hit “Stand Back” from her 1983 solo album “The Wild Heart.”

Review: Stevie Nicks Mystic Lake Amphitheatre, Minneapolis, MN

The woman's got spunk, and she's got an understated moxie. She's got rockin' bangs, and extreme melodrama. She's still got it all. But the best part is she's got sincerity at its most earnest, and she's charming and gracious as all get-out.

After opening her performance with an energetic rendition of her hit "Stand Back," Nicks described the set that would follow as a "journey" which would contain a few of the older gems, as well as the newer output she really believes in. And that she'd like to--hollering louder than your loudest rock dude hollerer--"GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" With that, she kicked things off with the recent "Secret Love," a song and performance that did, as she claimed it would, hold its own against her classic stuff. The rest of her set, as promised peppered with plenty of recent songs, was as strong for its emphasis on the new as on the old. Her stage presence and her at times full and deep, at other times characteristically nasal, voice held up through the entire performance, backed by a beyond-capable band that featured local Peterson family legend Ricky Peterson on keys and Hammond.

Behind The Scenes With Stevie Nicks on For What It's Worth Video

Relaxed in black and looking ever the rock star, Stevie Nicks proves she's still got it in these just released behind-the-scenes photos for her new music video, For What It's Worth.

The song is the second single off Nicks' first studio album in ten years which was released early this May. The Fleetwood Mac legend produced and co-wrote much of the CD In Your Dreams with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame.

Keep an eye out for Stewart and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty + The Heartbreakers who make a special cameo in the video.

Don’t miss Stevie when she Performs live in Central Park this Friday on Good Morning America.

In Your Dreams is in stores now.
