The relatively short tour with Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks sharing a stage continues to roll across North America from East to West... Next stop is Phoenix on April 15th... Additions to this summary below are both the New York City shows on March 26th and April 6th at Madison Square Garden... Both shows were reported as sellouts by the promoter with a combined audience of 27,016 and gross revenue of $3,034,795.  Not bad for a couple nights work!  Click to enlarge.

iTunes, Barnes and Noble (USA), HMV (UK) and Amazon (Worldwide) all have pre-order availability for "In Your Dreams".  Some countries have both the Delux version and the standard version available on iTunes, some just the standard 13 track version.  The Delux version on all iTunes includes 2 bonus videos Secret Love and Cheaper Than Free.  No extra tracks are being offered as bonus tracks with iTunes.  The video for Cheaper Than Free is currently a FREE download on iTunes in the USA only.  In Canada the other market the video it's available in the cost is $2.29.  I also listed whether Secret Love as a single was available in any particular country.  If I didn't list a country, I didn't find anything available for Pre-order.  If you know of a legitimate retailer or if I've missed an iTunes listing that should be listed here for your country, please let me know.  All the album information listed below is for Pre-Sale.

"Secret Love" on the Charts... Update! + Various Nicks and Mac on itunes

Stevie's current single is about to drop off the Triple A Radio Play charts... With a decrease over last week in the number of times it was played at radio, this will likely be it's last week in the top 30.

On the Adult Contemporary charts she's down a postion to # 22 with radio plays flat for the week - but still maintains it's bullet.  Only one station picked up the track over the previous week up to the reporting deadline of April 11th.  The Oprah Effect isn't present here as this reporting period ended on Monday April 11th.  There should be some sort of effect on next weeks chart.

These charts will be published in Billboard April 23rd.

(Review) "Rumours" Fleetwood Mac's Double LP Edition For Record Store Day

After years of delay, Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 blockbuster Rumours finally made its way to the pressing plant—the Pallas plant in Germany, to be exact. True to its past performances, Pallas has done an exquisite job on these four vinyl surfaces. Though the cover printing has picked up a bit of contrast from the original, it’s printed on heavy stock, and there’s evidence of spot varnish having been applied. Very nice touch. Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray are rumored (pun intended) to have performed the remastering duties, yet there are no mastering credits on the jacket and the copyright date is listed as 2009. Fittingly, then, the record retains some of its original relationship-related controversy.

Those who have been waiting for this reissue since 2006, the year a few test pressings slipped onto the market, will be rewarded the second they drop the tonearm on the opening track. It sounds scrumptious. Thanks to the almost CD-quiet backgrounds, you hear much more of Mick Fleetwood’s percussion. On “Dreams,” Lindsey Buckingham’s backing vocals have considerably more space than they do on early pressings. A smidge of tape hiss creeps into “Songbird” at the end of the second side, but that’s not a bad thing. It actually reinforces the material’s analog greatness. Moreover, Christine McVie’s voice never sounded better and, thanks to the extra grooves made possible by the 45RPM extension, possesses more delicacy than the original pressings. “Songbird” is the best example of low-level detail; the following track, and beginning of the third side, “The Chain,” offers up the best example of dynamic punch. “I Don’t Want To Know” comes a close second.

The best news? Warner Bros.’ pressing is flawless from beginning to end. This is definitely the super-sized version of Rumours: It goes beyond big sound. You can just feel this record breathe, in and out, while listening to tracks that you thought you knew like the back of your hand. Wait until you experience the new information that’s available. And the soundstage is massive. If the music doesn’t float well past your speakers’ boundaries, it’s time to go shopping for a new stereo.

So, take a trip back to 1977 when Stevie Nicks had small breasts and Buckingham sported big hair. If you’ve got a rare, early first-stamper pressing, you may not need to add this one to your collection unless you are really obsessive compulsive. But if you love Rumours (and almost everyone does) and you don’t have a flawless copy, this edition is worth every penny. A 180g 33-1/3RPM version is also available for around $25. But fairly priced at $45 for four sides, the deluxe audiophile edition is the way to go.

The Oprah Effect - Stevie Nicks "In Your Dreams" + Fleetwood Mac Album Sales

The awareness Oprah brings to an artists album is immeasurable. The only real way to measure the impact after an appearance on the show is to look directly at the album charts (if an album is released) or look at it's ranking on the best sellers list on Amazon for example where albums available for pre-sale and current releases are ranked.

Earlier today Stevie's In Your Dreams was ranked somewhere just north of # 50 on the top 100 in music sales. Currently it's sitting at # 16 on the top 100 which is a huge leap! When you break it all down into categories it looks like the following:

# 2 in Music > Classic Rock > Album-Oriented Rock (AOR)
# 10 in Music > Rock
# 15 in Music > Pop

itunes also experienced an uptick in downloads for both Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac in North America... These are fairly current numbers although itunes is a moving target so it's hard to say at what time of day these numbers are from.  In any case, there's no denying the Oprah effect...

(Review) Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks - Kansas 4/12/11

Tuesday’s show at the Sprint Center was a jukebox bonanza, a career-spanning showcase by two performers with dozens of hit albums and scores of Top 40 hits between them. Rod Stewart was the headliner, but he appeared first, to introduce the opener and co-headliner, Stevie Nicks, who came fashioned and equipped like the main event: with a seven-piece band, two backup singers and her own video show. Nicks spent her 70-minute set digging through her solo catalog, playing a song (“Sorcerer” "Secret Love") off her upcoming album, covering a Tom Petty song (“You Wreck Me”) and obliging everyone with four of her best-known Fleetwood Mac titles: “Dreams,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “Rhiannon” and “Landslide.”
