FLEETWOOD MAC #2 IN NORTH AMERICA #6 WORLDWIDE

FLEETWOOD MAC RANKS 2nd IN NORTH AMERICA BEHIND BRITNEY SPEARS
Pollstar has released it's mid year Top 100 North American Concert Tours for the first six months of 2009. Fleetwood Mac is #2 in North America with a gross of 54.8 million on 53 shows.

On the Top 25 Worldwide Tours - Fleetwood Mac rank #6.

Considering the economy in North America this past year along with Fleetwood Mac not promoting any new material but touring behind their past hits, I think they did quite well with a million dollar average per show.

STEVIE NICKS ON THE ULTIMATE SHOWMAN (MICHAEL JACKSON)

Michael Jackson Remembered:

I remember before [we performed at Bill Clinton's 1993 inauguration], Michael sent somebody to find out if I had any foundation make-up he could borrow. I was using some light Chanel foundation at that time, and Michael sent back a note to say, thanks, but the foundation wasn't quite light enough for him. He meant that in show business, the stage is everywhere — it's when you leave the parking lot, when you go to the mall. It's about trying your best to be as perfect as possible. It's the reason Michael was like royalty. There's no other person like that, because the era of performers — the Frank Sinatras, the Elizabeth Taylors, the Sammy Davis Jr.s — is over. He was the last emperor.

Rolling Stone's special commemorative Michael Jackson issue featuring tributes from Quincy Jones, Slash, Brooke Shields and more is available now.

She explains, "I refuse to be pulled into the politics of war. But once these soldiers sign up, go to war and come back to a hospital, I will do whatever it takes to make them better." Nicks provides iPods loaded with her favourite music.

After 40 years, 16 different members, and several break-ups, Fleetwood Mac endures as one of the world's most popular groups, selling more than 100 million albums. Our look at this amazing survival story begins with Fleetwood Mac finding its artistic niche in soft rock driven by haunting lyrics and female vocals. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie remained constant fixtures, while Christine McVie helped begin the group's transition to softer rock. With the arrival of Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac developed its signature sound. The group produced albums such as "Fleetwood Mac," "Rumours" and "Tusk," and a string of hit singles including "Rhiannon," "Go Your Own Way," "Over My Head," and "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow."
