MICK FLEETWOOD JOINS JOHN MAYALL AT MAUI GIG

First John Mcvie appeared with John Mayall in Honolulu on November18th - Now it's Micks turn. Mick sat in with John's band at the MACC (Maui Arts & Cultural Center) in Kahului, HI last night (Nov. 20th).  No other details available.

"John Mayall last played on Maui at the close of 2009, jamming with the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band at a Mala Wailea New Year's celebration. If the legendary drummer is home, he will likely play a bit at the MACC on November 20th.

"Hopefully Mick will show up because he did last time," says Mayall. Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie told Mayall he will join the Honolulu show. "That will be nice to see him," he adds.

Mick and his band will play a couple of holiday concerts including Dec. 30 at the Maui Theatre in Lahaina. And we can look forward to a new club, Fleetwoods, opening in Lahaina."

Lauren's interview with Mick took place on Front Street in Lahaina at The Lahaina Store the former Planet Hollywood Restaurant. Lauren notes that in 6 months to a year, the restaurant will become "Fleetwood's" (not sure if that's the official name) and will feature "The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band" with the house wine being from Mick's own Private Label Collection.  She mentions Mick will be playing with the Blues Band on the roof top.

LINDSAY OR LINDSEY?

@DaveStewart tweeted a number of hours ago that he was leaving the UK headed for LA - back to work with Stevie and Lindsay on Monday.

Does Dave mean Lindsey Buckingham or someone else? Given that he spelled Lindsay with an "A" it could mean someone else entirely. If it is Buckingham, is Lindsey really taking part in Stevie's new album? A Buckingham Nicks reunion of sorts? Is he singing, or just playing guitar? It's not clear. So many questions pop up from this. What's clear is that this is the first time someone by the name of Lindsay (with an "A") has entered the fray of Stevie's recording... If it's fact, all she needs is John McVie on their and it's a quasi Fleetwood Mac reunion.  Hopefully it's a spelling error on Dave's part and he does mean Lindsey Buckingham....That would be a treat to hear him play and or sing on the new album.

You never know.... Maybe Dave Stewart could be that outside producer that Lindsey Buckingham has talked about seeking to help with the next Fleetwood Mac album?? It could happen!

JOHN MCVIE MAKES APPEARANCE WITH JOHN MAYALL - HONOLULU NOV 18TH

A nearly full house turned out for a concert by Shemekia Copeland and John Mayall Thursday night at Pipeline Cafe in Honolulu, for a lively revival show that paid appropriate homage to the blues masters who created American roots music and rock and roll.

If all that wasn’t enough: Oldsters who remembered the first wave of British blues were treated to a special treat when John McVie of Fleetwood Mac, who played bass with Mayall way back when as part of the Bluesbreakers and now spends a good bit of his time in Maui, stepped up on stage for a couple of songs with the band. McVie was extremely gracious, taking time after his appearance to speak with everyone who wanted a word.
