The Lahaine Store on Front St.
Lauren's interview with Mick took place on Front Street in Lahaina at The Lahaina Store the former Planet Hollywood Restaurant. Lauren notes that in 6 months to a year, the restaurant will become "Fleetwood's" (not sure if that's the official name) and will feature "The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band" with the house wine being from Mick's own Private Label Collection.  She mentions Mick will be playing with the Blues Band on the roof top.

LINDSAY OR LINDSEY?

@DaveStewart tweeted a number of hours ago that he was leaving the UK headed for LA - back to work with Stevie and Lindsay on Monday.

Does Dave mean Lindsey Buckingham or someone else? Given that he spelled Lindsay with an "A" it could mean someone else entirely. If it is Buckingham, is Lindsey really taking part in Stevie's new album? A Buckingham Nicks reunion of sorts? Is he singing, or just playing guitar? It's not clear. So many questions pop up from this. What's clear is that this is the first time someone by the name of Lindsay (with an "A") has entered the fray of Stevie's recording... If it's fact, all she needs is John McVie on their and it's a quasi Fleetwood Mac reunion.  Hopefully it's a spelling error on Dave's part and he does mean Lindsey Buckingham....That would be a treat to hear him play and or sing on the new album.

You never know.... Maybe Dave Stewart could be that outside producer that Lindsey Buckingham has talked about seeking to help with the next Fleetwood Mac album?? It could happen!

JOHN MCVIE MAKES APPEARANCE WITH JOHN MAYALL - HONOLULU NOV 18TH

A nearly full house turned out for a concert by Shemekia Copeland and John Mayall Thursday night at Pipeline Cafe in Honolulu, for a lively revival show that paid appropriate homage to the blues masters who created American roots music and rock and roll.

If all that wasn’t enough: Oldsters who remembered the first wave of British blues were treated to a special treat when John McVie of Fleetwood Mac, who played bass with Mayall way back when as part of the Bluesbreakers and now spends a good bit of his time in Maui, stepped up on stage for a couple of songs with the band. McVie was extremely gracious, taking time after his appearance to speak with everyone who wanted a word.

A COUPLE OF NOTABLE BLU-RAY RELEASES - BOTH INCLUDE STEVIE NICKS

Runnin’ Down A Dream
Peter Bogdanovich’s Grammy-Award winning film about Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers is now available on Blu-ray for the first time. The Blu-ray version of Runnin’ Down A Dream can be purchased exclusively at Amazon.com until December 21st. At that time it will be released via all other outlets.

[Really great documentary if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.]

In one segment, Tom describes how it came to be that Stevie recorded "Stop Draggin My Heart Around".  This doc also includes Tom and Stevie in the recording studio putting the vocals on the track & Jimmy Iovine talking about how he knew the song was going to be a winner with Stevie singing a song from a guys perspective... and of course Stevie's in here herself commenting on the song.

Heavy Metal
With The Walking Dead, Dead Rising, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, zombies are riding quite the wave of success right now. The inclusion of a zombie sequence in producer Ivan Reitman's 1981 animated Heavy Metal may be why Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed plans to bring the edgy and very R-rated film to Blu-ray Disc on January 25.

Heavy Metal's collection of short stories are linked by a glowing green alien orb that spread destruction in its wake. John Candy, Eugene Levy, Richard Romanus and Harold Ramis all lend their voices to characters that fight the orb's powers behind a great 80s soundtrack powered by Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Devo, Donald Fagen, Don Felder, Grand Funk Railroad, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks (Blue Lamp), Riggs, and Trust.

Stevie Nicks "BLUE LAMP"

Heavy Metal on Blu-ray will be presented in 1.85:11080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The 'Imagining Heavy Metal' documentary and deleted scenes are the only known bonus features at this time.
