The decade where Fleetwood Mac ruled the world! Cars were the size of aircraft carriers and no one really cared about living, they cared more about L-I-V-I-N-G...
It's been a long year since February, 2010 when we first caught wind that Dave Stewart was writing with, playing on and producing a new album for Stevie Nicks... But in many ways the time has flown by. Now, just as Winter begins, we all await Spring and the big day of release.
Mick Fleetwood along with Steven Tyler Dave Navarro and whole host of others at CAMP FREDDY, in LA at The Roxy last night (Dec 10, 2010). Mick played drums for Steven Tyler's version of "Rattlesnake Shake".
"CAMP FREDDY is an 'Occasional Happening', a freak of Hollywood nature. What happens when we get together and play is anyone's guess. Surprise guests, lounge singers turned heavy rock superstars, some of the world's greatest guitarists playing three chord punk tunes. I mean, who knows what will happen at the next show? It's all about the music, the motivation and, above all, the fun!! What we all got into the business for originally. We play some of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written, have a real laugh doing it, and invite other artists that we know and respect to play them with us. It's the real spirit of Rock and Roll.' --Billy Morrison, Guitarist-Camp Freddy."
"Simply Eva" by Eva Cassidy, due January 25 (Blix Street), is a compilation of acoustic versions of twelve songs recently unearthed from Cassidy's recording archives. Amongst the 12 tracks lay a more intimate and affecting version of the Fleetwood Mac song "Songbird" written by Christine McVie - now an Eva signature song. Also included are "Time After Time", an extended version of the Paul Simon classic "Kathy's Song", gospel standards "People Get Ready" and "Wade In the Water", "Wayfaring Stranger", "True Colors", and "Autumn Leaves".
A lot of people, including singers, have problems with how they think their voice sounds. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac is not one of those people. Listen to her take on her voice.
