The auction will support hearing health in the music environment through the House Research Institute's Sound Partners initiative, the outreach efforts of H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers) and scholarships for students of the audio arts and sciences.
Our goal is to raise at least $100,000 at MSRP of pro audio hardware and software, musical instruments and other items of interest to our constituency, and we're asking for your help in meeting this goal. One of the headline items this year will be a Rick Turner Original Model 1 Lindsey Buckingham Signature Guitar, autographed by this year’s Les Paul Award recipient, Lindsey Buckingham.
The TEC Awards Music & Sound Auction will begin January 24th on eBay, with ending times for auction items ranging from 5-10 days. Promotion of the eBay auction will begin in the weeks preceding NAMM. As always, any donations will be tax deductible to the full extent of IRS regulations.
Named for one of the industry's most revered personalities, the Les Paul Award was created in 1991 to honor individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of recording technology.
The prodigiously talented Lindsey Buckingham, the singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer behind the most successful lineup of Fleetwood Mac—as well as a sterling solo career—is a natural choice for the Les Paul Award honor.
