STEVIE NICKS Live in Atlanta... Included "For What It's Worth" Video

Stevie's show went off without a hitch last night in Atlanta at Chastain Amphitheatre... Atlanta was originally scheduled for Monday night but because of medical reasons it was postponed until Wednesday which sadly meant cancelling Indianapolis.  We later found out that it was Stevie's vocal chords that were sore... Not so much from the singing but from talking.  She had been doing a lot of press lately and being the chatty person that she is... she just over did it a bit.  So that coupled with being on tour, just wore her voice down... So she obviously was advised to take a few days rest, which she did...

She spoke early in the show about how she had been on vocal rest due to press she had been doing for the new album... According to reports you could hear it in her speaking voice a little, but her singing voice was spot on!  The setlist remained intact from Woodlands on August 13th.  Two songs in total have been dropped since the beginning of the tour.. Sorcerer and unfortunately the lead track from her new album "In Your Dreams".  But with the ever popular Landslide back in the set and Leather and Lace, which hasn't been around in years... It's all good.  A noticeable change in the wardrobe department, Stevie ended the night in the white top she had been wearing beginning with Edge of Seventeen, but on this night she left out the white dress.
"FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH" VIDEO
Another major change was the "For What It's Worth" video made an appearance during her performance of the song... Descriptions of the new video for Stevie's new single, which hasn't actually premiered yet, say it looks really beautiful and very fitting for the song... The video was shot in the desert a few weeks ago with an old bus used as a backdrop as if they were driving across the USA.  Reports say there are a lot of close-ups of Stevie in the video - on the bus, getting her makeup done, playing guitar, hanging out with Dave Stewart and Mike Campbell.  Plus there are images of her standing out in the desert in black flowy chiffon with the wind blowing.  Stevie's niece Jessica, appears in the video as a makeup artist doing her makeup.... CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!

Stevie Nicks brings the hits to Huntington Center

Stevie Nicks is a woman who needs little introduction.

As a add-on member of Fleetwood Mac in the late-'70s, she took the band to new heights, penning their one and only Billboard Hot 100 hit, and coming to personify the band itself with her signature vocal style and dramatic costuming.

As many a rock star were wont to do, Nicks gave way to infamous sexual promiscuity and drug abuse. But, unlike many, she was able to careen herself out of the ditch and hold down solo success throughout the '80s and '90s.

Having just released her first album in 10 years, In Your Dreams (produced by Eurythmics' Dave Stewart), Nicks brings her lovable, sultry style, decades-long string of hits, and unmistakable voice to Toledo. ... Or, at least that's the rumor.

Stevie Nicks performs at The Huntington Center (500 Jefferson) in Downtown Toledo on Friday, August 19. 8 p.m. Tickets are $49.50, $69.50, $89.50, and $125.

Lindsey Buckingham: "We're doing about eight or nine new songs" on tour...

“I’m doing a fair number of songs just on my own,” he explains, “but most of these songs are ensemble, and they need a band. I thought it would be more interesting, certainly, to do new songs that are as close to the recorded versions as we care to get, so we’ve done that. Of course, you don’t really get away without doing a few other things, too, that people might want to hear, so you try to mix it up. But we’re doing about eight or nine new songs.”

Riffs, Rants & Rumors: Lindsey Buckingham Sows Solo Seeds
by Jim Allen

Lindsey Buckingham occupies one of the odder positions in the already off-kilter business that is the modern-day music industry. Though Buckingham is the co-leader and driving force behind one of the bedrock bands of the classic-rock universe, the Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter/guitarist’s long-standing, if sporadic, solo career is considerably more of a boutique operation. This is especially true with the arrival of his latest solo outing, Seeds We Sow, Buckingham’s first-ever release outside the major-label realm. Buckingham had been working under the Warner/Reprise umbrella ever since his band’s self-titled 1975 blockbuster album, but after his contract ran out following his last solo outing, he found the majors to be both uninspired and uninspiring in regard to his new work. “As we all know,” he says, “the model of the large record company, you might say it’s broken. But you might just say it’s insensitive to the sense of possibility, the sense of risk-taking, the sense of nurturing that it used to provide artists.” Consequently, he’s gone the indie route with Seeds.
