Seeds We Sow:
Chatting with Lindsey Buckingham

A Conversation with Lindsey Buckingham

Mike Ragogna: Lindsey, how are you?

Lindsey Buckingham: Good. How are you?

MR: I'm doing fine. It's an honor to speak to you, sir.

LB: Well, thank you. I appreciate that.

MR: I've been a fan since your first solo album, Law And Order. Of course, I loved the Fleetwood Mac material, but I've really enjoyed all of your solo material as well.

LB: Well, that's nice to hear. We do our best, what can I say?

MR: Lindsey, you're on your sixth solo album now, Seeds We Sow. No surprise, you produced, mixed, and performed virtually every note. Oh, and you wrote almost all the songs.

LB: Well, pretty much. There's a Rolling Stones cover at the end, "She Smiled Sweetly," and I co-wrote one of the songs, "Stars Are Crazy." My road band is also playing on one of the songs, but yes, for all intents and purposes, I did. I must have control issues, yes?

MR: (laughs) Nah, you're just über-creative. "Stars Are Crazy" is one of my favorite tracks on this new album. Who co-wrote that with you?

John McVie and Mick Fleetwood Featured on NEW ZZ Top Tribute

October 11th is the official release date of ZZ Top A Tribute From Friends. This eleven track compilation draws together newly-recorded versions of ZZ Top classics, interpreted by a range of artists. The album leads off with “Sharp Dressed Man,” which is credited to The M.O.B., a group that features Mick Fleetwood, Steven Tyler, Jonny Lang and John McVie.

Upon learning of the album, Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, responded via statement: “When we were told there was going to be a ZZ Top tribute album a while ago and logically asked, ‘Who are we paying tribute to?’ Then we found out that a bunch of great artists were paying tribute to us and we were in disbelief. For the past 40 or so years, all we’ve done is get out there and crank it and try to have a good time while doing so. To a great extent, we’ve succeeded since we’re still having a good time so that would be reward enough for ‘the same three guys playing the same three chords.’ Now comes A Tribute From Friends and we’re so delighted that our music resonates with these great musicians whom we so admire.”

Fleetwood admits he was thrilled to be asked to be a part of the tribute: "We’re delighted to honour ZZ Top this way. Their legacy, like that of the original Fleetwood Mac, is steeped in the blues we all love so much. I know that Steven and Jonny feel as strongly about their legacy as John and I do."

Mick and John's inclusion on this album was initially reported back in January, 2011 HERE.

Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks - 2 singles Impacting Radio

Both Stevie and Lindsey have new singles out promoting their respective albums Stevie with "For What It's Worth" and Lindsey with "In Our Own Time".  Lindsey's tune is so far impacting at Triple A stations and was picked up by 5 stations today.. That's great!  Stevie's track has been building slowly since it's release in July primarily at AC stations with a  few Triple A stations picking up the track.  Stevie's track should officially enter Billboards Top 30 AC chart within the next week or two and with the video for the song expected in the next few weeks it will only help with awareness. Lindsey's song was just released so it still needs to build up some radio spins before it hits any charts.  No word on whether a video will be serviced or not.  Good news all around!
