STEVIE NICKS: Explains Fleetwood Mac Delay until 2013

Stevie Nicks has explained to us why the next round of Fleetwood Mac activity, which had been expected to take place in 2012, has been pushed back to 2013. She says she wants to continue promoting her current solo album, InYour DreamsI, through next summer, and expects to release more singles and videos from it. "I just want people to see and hear it, so I want to keep this record going until next summer."
Stevie says Lindsey Buckingham, in particular, has been supportive.

"Lindsey knows how important this record is to me, because [he] was a part of [it]. And so he said to me, 'This record is your heart. Don't feel as if you have to run back to Fleetwood Mac, because you don't."

She's also got two movie projects -- both based on old songs -- she wants to "at least get started" next year. One is a movie version of the Welsh folk tale that inspired her to write "Rhiannon," the other an animated film based on a pre-Fleetwood Mac song called "The Ladybug and the Goldfish."

Stevie Nicks | Lindsey Buckingham and the Grammy Possibilities

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham
Two amazing artists putting out arguably their best solo material
Could a Grammy be next?

2011 has been an incredible year for both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.  Within the span of 5 months both have put out critically and to a certain extent commercially successful albums.  They have both toured North America this spring, summer and fall and continue to tour with upcoming shows booked in the UK and Australia. They have surrounded themselves with incredible musicians backing them up in the studio and on the road which resulted in two stellar albums, cool videos and really amazing interesting live performances in some great historic venues!  It goes without saying that each has had an amazing run as a solo artists over the years, not to mention being members of Fleetwood Mac, so to see this level of artistic achievement from them at this stage in their careers is just mind blowing... And both show no signs of stopping now!  In fact it almost feels like they are just getting started!  They continue to roll on with Lindsey releasing a live DVD/CD package out Oct 31st in the UK & November 1st in North America and Stevie is reportedly prepping her "Making of" In Your Dreams documentary.  It's also been an incredible year for fans on both sides of the fence so any Grammy nominations on top of all this would just be icing on the cake!

I'm really excited for both of them and wish them both the best of luck as the list of artists and their submissions is fairly lengthy with a lot of really great performers this year hoping to grab a nomination.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
Here's a list of submissions for Grammy consideration for both Lindsey and Stevie.  Actual nominations are announced at some point in December with awards given out early next year.

Stevie and her team have submitted two songs in 5 categories. "Secret Love" for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video categories.  They have also submitted "Soldiers Angel" in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories.  Stevie's album "In Your Dreams" was also placed in the Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year categories.  Lindsey Buckingham and his team have submitted his album "Seeds We Sow" in for consideration in the Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year categories with the lead single "In Our Own Time" being submitted to the Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year categories. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH!!

Lindsey Buckingham.... Live in Vancouver

Okay... Well I saw the show last night in Vancouver... and I loved it!  It's a really fun show with a really good mix of what the broad public knows Lindsey for plus plenty from his solo career including a lot from the new album.  The new music sounded great live.

I saw him in this theatre in 2006 on the Under The Skin Tour a little further back then my second row seat last night, so it was really cool just to watch his fingers attack his guitars... The man has great ability no doubt as do the others in the band.  Walfredo on drums was a lot of fun to watch too... The facial expressions! What is it with drummers and their facial expressions? The sound didn't seem as loud compared to the last time I saw his show here.  That could be because of my proximity to the stage and not exactly in front of the speakers. Still sounded great, it just could have been a little louder.

No changes to the setlist... The theatre was probably 3/4 sold, the crowd was alright, mainly a sit down appreciative crowd with Second Hand News being the catalyst to get a few up front on their feet.  The Fleetwood Mac tracks do it every time.  There was some sort of a mini orchestra pit right in front of the stage, so people in the front row actually couldn't get right up to the stage so when ever Lindsey did come to the edge, he was still it seemed, a couple of rows out of reach.  The band definitely plays off audience enthusiasm and participation.  Big smile on Lindsey's face at the beginning when he first walked on stage - someone from the audience shouted out SEEDS WE SOW!  Then... WELCOME TO CANADA!  More shouts of love and appreciation from the audience followed throughout the show... Some of which he acknowledged.

A couple of favourite tunes from the show for me were... Stars Are Crazy, Illumination and Turn It On... Hard to single out a few as everything was great to hear live and a real treat to witness.  As Brett says, he's an American treasure!

During the intros Lindsey mentioned that having a few days off prior to the show had the guys a bit gitty as they were kinda horsing around a bit.  Whether that's a rehearsed thing, I'm not sure.  Lindsey was moving around a lot during this - when intros were over, he turned around to walk back towards the back of the stage and tripped over his own guitar cords and wiped out, in a sort of easy rolling down on his back, feet up in the air kind of way... nothing severe.  He sat there for a second, strummed his guitar, got up and carried on with Treason.

All in all a great night in the beautiful city of Vancouver and I'm so happy I saw this show! Thanks to Lindsey, Brett, Neale and Walfredo!

Tried taking a few photos, none of which turned out to be anything but a blurry mess... The one above is the clearest.
