Weston, 64, who lived alone, was discovered when police broke into his flat in Brent Cross, north London, after friends raised the alarm.
He had been due to work on a new album yesterday with former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.

Weston’s brother Peter, 53, said last night: “He was a lovely, gentle bloke. It’s a shock. He’d everything to live for."

He was in Fleetwood Mac from 1972 to 1974. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.

Musical minds still active: Lindsey Buckingham "Seeds We Sow"

Musical minds still active
Rock legends get creative in producing new and old material

Some veteran rock musicians - as Jim Messina and Hall of Fame member Dave Mason said in 2011 interviews with the Record - have stopped creating original music or releasing new records.

At least that's what they said. Why bother?

In the free-market Internet era, their material either gets stolen or it's subsumed in the vast mass of musical stuff available at the stroke of a computer key or two.

Still, some veteran musicians - twice the age that the Who's Peter Townshend was content with 46 years ago - kept creating in 2011. Some of them very impressively.
  • The Cars "Move Like This"
  • Glen Campbell "Ghost on the Canvas"
  • Jimmy Cliff "Sacred Fire"
  • Garland Jeffreys "The King of In Between"
  • Lindsey Buckingham "Seeds We Sow": Known best for helping make Fleetwood Mac become a conquering force in the 1970s, Buckingham, 62, has released a series of quirky, inventive, imaginative solo albums that defy the Mac's commercial realities but satisfy his experimental urges and encyclopedic guitar stylings. Just like this one.
  • Paul Simon "So Beautiful or So What"
  • Nick Lowe "The Old Magic"

Mick Fleetwood Sighting: Duluthian PGA Volunteer sits and Chats with Mick

Published by @Nickslive nickslive.blogspot.com for Fleetwood Mac News and Reviews
This past Tuesday, Mick Fleetwood was spotted at LAX a couple of times first in the terminal, then on the flight over to Hawaii.  Here are a couple of Tweets:
Turns out he sat next to PGA Golf Volunteer Brad Ballantine.  Here's a snippet of the article in the Duluth News Tribune where Brad was interviewed and talks about his encounter with Mick.

Duluthian gets ‘chance of a lifetime’ as PGA volunteer
Brad Ballantine must have thought he was dreaming Tuesday.

The avid Duluth golfer was bound for Hawaii for the PGA’s season-opening Tournament of Champions, where he will work for the first time as a volunteer, and sitting next to him on his flight was Mick Fleetwood.

That would be drummer Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac.

“Mick and I had a nice chat on the way over here, and when we left he said, ‘Good luck with your golf tournament. That’s really cool,’” Ballantine said.

If Mick Fleetwood thinks what you’re doing is really cool, it’s really cool.

“Mick came across as a very nice guy. It was awesome. I don’t know what to tell you. I get goose bumps just thinking about it. He’s a golf nut. He has an estate here not far from the course. I was hoping for an invite, but I didn’t get one.”
