Photos: Up All Night with Stevie Nicks

Another really great night of STEVIE on TV
Idol was awesome.. But nothing will top the ending of Up All Night

Stevie Nicks made an appearance on Up All Night tonight. While Reagan frets over booking her childhood hero, Chris has trouble accepting his age and decides to play hockey with a younger crowd. Ava is given a puppy, but worries she is not a positive influence on the young pet. Amy is close to walking on her own, but Reagan struggles to let go.

Here are some (not so great) screen caps from tonights episode that Stevie Guest Starred on. The ending of the episode was a dream sequence in which Christina Applegates character Reagan envisions herself singing Edge of Seventeen on stage with Stevie... Christina had Stevie's moves down!  Right down to wearing one of Stevie's vintage Margi Kent creations + the beige boots... Fun episode!  We got to hear "Sleeping Angel", Edge of Seventeen... and Maya and Stevie harmonizing on "Whenever I Call You Friend".  They sounded beautiful together... All were short clips of the songs but cool to hear... Sleeping Angel is a must hear, search it out!

Explosive Ken Caillat Interview: Famed Fleetwood Mac Producer Recounts Turmoil

Ken Caillat interview with Melissa Parker - Smashinginterviews

I clipped a few segments... Some of it not so positive towards Fleetwood Mac and it's members...

Famed Fleetwood Mac Producer Recounts the Turmoil and Triumphs of ‘Rumours’

"Were the band members asked to participate?
I got a call back from the management, and he said, “Lindsey might write his own book, so he has asked the band not to support you and the book.” They basically said, “No. We’re not going to do the book.”

"Christine McVie has read the book now, and she told me that she loved it. Christine said that I brought passion back into the music for her and brought back so many memories. She’s the only real sweetheart in the group. The rest of them are all fighting with each other."

Christine might’ve given you an interview to use in the book.
"Right. But, Fleetwood Mac is a very complex group. I talked to Warner Bros. the other day. I was working on footage for the enhanced book and they used the “F” word, saying, “You know, Fleetwood Mac is just a nightmare."

"At the time, Christine said she would definitely do an interview. Then, she asked if anyone else in the band had given one. I said, “Well, honestly, no. Lindsey said he didn’t want them doing it because he said he might want one day to do a book himself.” Christine said, “I don’t want to go against anybody else.”

"There was no responsibility for anybody to take care of anybody else, but they are rich and some of the people like Judy Wong … she was found in her apartment after being dead for a week. Judy did everything for Christine McVie and the band, and for her not to be given whatever she needed … she died toothless. "

"Ray Lindsey, a roadie, works for Conan. He said, “Ken, I’m kind of haunted by this. I feel like I want to write a book to tell about it and to get the demons out of my head.” Richard said that they’ve pretty much abandoned him. He would work for Lindsey three years straight without getting a check. He just took advantage of him. So, Richard, being a pretty sensitive guy, just sold and gave away every piece of Fleetwood Mac memorabilia he had."

"I used to be able to call Mick or Stevie directly, but now I get someone else who answers and says, “Who’s this? Oh yeah, you’re the guy from 20 years ago.”

"Do you know of any plans for Fleetwood Mac to reunite for a tour?"
"Nope. I don’t think so. I did a Christine McVie album in 2003, and I suggested that before Fleetwood Mac ever goes on the next tour maybe they should go into the studio and record a few songs from Christine’s 2005 album. It would be really great because it would be the first Fleetwood Mac/Christine songs in a long time, and it would break through to the radio."

"Christine loved the idea. But, who knows? I told that to Mick, but he has no power over anybody. If Stevie thinks that Lindsey thought of something first, she’ll say ‘no,’ and vice versa. They could be doing so well, you know? If they had only listened to me, they could be doing so well. They’re just people. They have ups and downs, and quite honestly, they’re all down now. They could make a lot of people happy if they’d just cut the crap and just be human beings, not anything special."

"They’re not friggin’ special, and their crap stinks like everybody else’s, goddamit! They need to just get it through their heads. They need to knock it off and just be real. Nobody gets to put anybody down with power trips."

"I got a message on Facebook saying, “I love this book. Would you please write Tusk?” I actually started writing Tusk. I’m only about ten pages in, but I’m not sure I’m really that excited about doing it because it’s going to be a little more negative than this one. I think this book is pretty light with a loving look at music."

Magic was in the air on American Idol

Magic was in the air on American Idol tonight.

As Aerosmith frontman Tyler noted, the [night] 'was a magical mystery tour of over-the-top talent and emotion.'

Both were found in the dynamic between 21-year-old Phillip Phillips and guest mentor Stevie Nicks.

The Fleetwood Mac singer was so enamoured with the Georgia boy that she even said, had it been 1975, he would have been part of her band.

It was the highest form of praise anyone could receive from a musical legend on an evening where the Idols honoured their own Idols.

The smitten singer told Phillips: 'Had it been you, me and [fellow Fleetwood Mac singer Lindsay Buckingham] in 1975, Mick Fleetwood would have asked all three of us to be part of Fleetwood Mac. You're that good.'

Emotional Stevie Nicks Coaches McKinney's Cavanagh on Idol

Townsquarebuzz

Music legend Stevie Nicks shared a tender moment with McKinney's Hollie Cavanagh this week on American Idol, and Hollie's emotions were still stirred during the show's live performance Wednesday night.

Hollie sang "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood. And Nicks, a guest coach this week, pleaded with her during practice to better connect with the song. Nicks shared with Hollie that her mother just died two months ago, and Hollie's song, which tackles a heartbreaking family drama, needed to relate to those powerful emotions.

"It doesn't matter about your big voice," Nicks, fighting back tears, whispered to Hollie during her practice session. "It matters about your heart."

After 18-year-old Hollie sang her practice number, Nicks said, "When she sang I started to cry. I believe her, and I think the world will believe her."

Hollie said it meant a lot that her practice session turned personal with the iconic solo artist and former Fleetwood Mac lead singer.

Videos: Stevie Nicks on Idol

WOW What a Night!!
Stevie Nicks was absolutely wonderful tonight on American Idol. So personal... So caring... and I think the contestants that were taking advice from Stevie and Jimmy really felt that... I did!

Here are 2 mentoring segments from the show.  It was a two hour show, Jimmy and Stevie were interspersed amongst the live performances hearing each song the contestant was going to sing... They would critique them, give them pointers, encouragement - and Stevie even added her own voice to a few of the segments helping the idol work out the song...  It was great and really cool to see.  The kids all seemed so blown away by what Stevie had to say... and were so appreciative.  It was cool to see Stevie in action.  We've all heard the stories on how she likes to mentor the younger generation of singers and artists but that's never been for public consumption... So it was nice to hear her with these young artists.  Stevie could easily be the resident Mentor on Idol!

Here's a couple of examples.  First up is Skylar and then Hollie who sang Carrie Underwood's Jesus Take The Wheel - which was really a touching moment for Stevie when in trying to get across the emotion that needs to be in the song to make it believable explained that she just lost her mother a couple of months ago and wants to hear Hollie's heart in the song! Stevie, then listening to Hollie sing, began to tear up.

'American Idol': Stevie Nicks tells Phillip Phillips he could have joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975
PopWatch

Phillip Phillips rings like a bell through the night. And wouldn’t you love to love him?

Stevie Nicks would. This week’s American Idol mentor (I know!!!) told the 21-year-old from Leesbug, Georgia that if he had been friends with her and Lindsey Buckingham in 1975, “Mick Fleetwood would have said ‘I want all three of you to join Fleetwood Mac.’ No doubt in my mind, because you’re that good.”
“And last, but not least, he’s gorgeous,” she added.
