REVIEW:
Lindsey Buckingham World CafĂ© Live at the Queen
Wilmington DE, June 11, 2012
By: Jay S. Jacobs

"The set was loose and passionate, fun and frisky, dark and ultimately hopeful.  The show proved that while Lindsey Buckingham is great with a band, he sure as hell doesn't need one.  The small machine was working pretty damned well all by itself."

REVIEW:
Lindsey Buckingham in Concert
Tarrytown Music Hall June 9th

During his June 9 performance at Tarrytown Music Hall, Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac guitarist since 1974, explained that he tries to find a balance between what he calls the “Big Machine” (the multi-million-selling rock group) and the “Small Machine” (his far less lucrative solo career).

That balance was on display, if sometimes precariously, throughout his 13-song, 75-minute solo set, in which Buckingham exchanged guitars with his roadie after every song and used foot pedals to trigger drum loops and other programming that backed his scintillating guitar playing and strong singing.

REVIEW:
Lindsey Buckingham at Lupo’s 5/30
by Tim Nassau

"Serious artists don’t need to be taken seriously, but the older you get the harder it is to remember that. I love Fleetwood Mac and, of all its members, I love Lindsey Buckingham the most: he wrote the best songs, he looks the best."

COULD FLEETWOOD MAC BE HEADED
TO NEW ZEALAND IN NOVEMBER ??

According to this article, Mr. Tombleson of Force Majeure Events International is in negotiations with Fleetwood Mac among others to appear at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Dunedin will host the world's largest indoor rodeo show outside Las Vegas, followed by New Zealand-exclusive performances from bands like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Bruno Mars, an international event promoter says.

Force Majeure Events International chief executive Darryl Tombleson said the rodeo show was scheduled to take place inside the Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 17.

Mr Tombleson was also "in negotiation" with The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Bruno Mars to perform at the stadium, in what would be New Zealand-exclusive shows.

"It will definitely happen ...this will be the saving grace for the stadium. We are looking at Bruno Mars for next year," he said.

Audience Intervention at last nights Lindsey Buckingham show in Wilmington, DE

Lindsey Buckingham Live in Wilmington, DE at World Cafe
June 11, 2012

The Delaware audience last night managed to finagle "Rock Away Blind" out of Lindsey... It's only the second time he's played this live, both times by request.  Seems this one was more by intervention. I wouldn't be surprised if this shows up in future setlists...

Only 4 shows remaining for this leg of the tour.. Washington, DC tonight!

Review Lindsey Buckingham Live at Musikfest Cafe - Bethlehem, PA 6/10/12

FLEETWOOD MAC'S LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM GOES HIS OWN WAY, SOLO AT MUSIKFEST CAFE
by John J. Moser
Lehigh Valley Music

When he plays for Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham always seems like the intense lead guitarist whose fervor is about to bubble over at any moment.

Playing alone and acoustic Sunday at Musikfest CafĂ© at SteelStacks in Bethlehem,  Buckingham was precisely that: a fervent singer and guitarist who performed every song with such intensity that it did, at points, boil over.

FLEETWOOD MAC TRIBUTE ALBUM UPDATE:
PLUS.... A little more info on that Fleetwood Mac compilation/tribute album that's been surfacing little by little over the last couple of years.  Just to refresh your memory, Michelle Branch posted on twitter back in February, 2010 that she was in the studio working with Waddy Wachtel on the Fleetwood Mac song "Say You Love Me" with Stevie producing... saying it was for a Fleetwood Mac Tribute...

Jump ahead to May, 2012 and classic rock station B102.7 reported that Trixie Whitley contributed to a song that Marianne Faithfull had recorded for the album and that it looked like it was coming out this year.

And just today... Paste Magazine posted an interview with former Shutter To Think frontman and Baby ringleader Craig Wedren and when asked by Paste was was next for him he said, "I’m doing a Fleetwood Mac cover song with Annie Clark from St. Vincent. for this Fleetwood Mac compilation which I guess is coming out this summer."

So even though this project appears to be coming together... it's still very much a bunch of bits and pieces of info that don't make a lot of sense right now... Some obscure non-mainstream artists (aside from Michelle) seem to be associated with this project.  Not sure if it's leaning towards country, or alternative or what... We shall see.
