In promoting a new documentary about the making of her first solo album in more than a decade, former Fleetwood Mac singer returns to the Bay Area, where she spent some of her most crazy and creative years.

When you listen to Stevie Nicks’ new album, In Your Dreams, sit on a couch with two huge speakers at your side - hopefully in front of a fireplace - pour yourself a glass of port, and take it in from start to finish.

That’s the request Nicks made after the screening of her self-produced documentary Friday night during the 35th Mill Valley Film Festival. The film chronicles the year she spent recording her first solo alum in more than a decade, with Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, who joined Nicks on stage at the sold-out Smith Rafael Film Center in San Rafael.

Nicks' ties to the Bay Area run deep. She lived in San Francisco from 1968 to 1971, and recorded the renowned Fleetwood Mac album Rumours at the former Record Plant in Sausalito during a stretch that had the group regularly piling into the studio's outdoor hot tub.

For this latest album, the magic happened at Nicks’ own mansion in Pacific Palisades  – although the 64-year-old rock 'n' roll icon actually lives with her dog in a one-bedroom condo a few minutes away. With people like Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and 'her girls,' backup singers Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks, all together under one roof, for Nicks it became “the moments that I live for.”

“I really wanted it to go on forever,” she said. Documenting the experience has been a way for her to relive it, and she also hopes it influences up and coming musicians about how much fun the process of creating an album can be.

Stevie Nicks: Fleetwood Mac Will Go on Tour in "April or May"; New Music May Be Coming

Back in June, Stevie Nicks confirmed that she would return to Fleetwood Mac in 2013, and the group would be hitting the road.  Now, she's offered a timetable for that hotly-anticipated event.

"We go into rehearsals somewhere around the end of February," she tells ABC News Radio.  "So...if everything goes to plan, we should probably be out [on the road] by end of April [or] May, I would think."

Not only that, but Stevie says the Mac may record some new songs as well.

"Well, actually, maybe like two songs, maybe four, who knows?" she says.  "We don't really know yet 'cause we're not in the world of Fleetwood Mac yet."  But, she reveals that Lindsey Buckingham "has a song," and adds, "I have a song that didn't make the Buckingham-Nicks album that I really love.  So, I'm gonna suggest that."

The Buckingham-Nicks album Stevie is referring to is a record that she and Lindsey put out in 1973 as a duo, before they joined Fleetwood Mac.  To date, it has not been released on CD, so it's pretty rare.

But either way, Stevie says, nothing's set in stone about Fleetwood Mac's recording plans.  "We're just still in talks about that," she says.

Fleetwood Mac hit the road | Showbiz | Express.co.uk

First of all... no need to panic, nothings been announced yet.

Second.... Three interesting points this article makes:

  1. Reforming for a series of concerts prior to a world tour next year?
  2. Possibly releasing new material for a proposed greatest hits release?
  3. This may be the end of the road for the band?

SUPERGROUP Fleetwood Mac are planning a world tour next year after reforming for a series of concerts following months of wrangling between drummer Mick Fleetwood and singer Stevie Nicks.

The rock giants are hitting the road to mark the 45th anniversary of the release of the band’s first album, with a different line-up, in 1968.

Singer Stevie Nicks has agreed to reunite with Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. British singer Christine McVie is not expected to sign up.

Last night a spokesman for Nicks confirmed plans for the tour: “It’s certainly looking that way. I don’t have specifics yet.”

The group may even record new material for a proposed greatest hits release.

A source in Los Angeles said: “The Fleetwood Mac tour is on. This may be the end of the road for them after so many great years. They are all older and getting together can be a struggle with their commitments. They all want to go out on a bang.”
