ON THIS DAY: Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" and "Dreams" both No.1 on U.S. Billboard Charts

On June 18, 1977 "Dreams" the second single released from "Rumours" topped Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart in it's 10th week of release.

The track written by Stevie Nicks, debuted on the Hot 100 on April 16, 1977 and spent 19 weeks in total on the chart logging 7 weeks in the top 10 and 4 weeks in the top 5. This is Fleetwood Mac's only No.1 single in the U.S.

While "Dreams" topped the singles chart, the album "Rumours" was firmly sitting at No.1 for a 7th non-consecutive week. The week following "Dreams" reaching the No.1 position, "Rumours" was certified 3x platinum in the U.S. signifying shipments of 3 million units. This is massive for an album released only 4 months prior. Within a year, "Rumours" would sell 8.2 million copies in the U.S. and would go on to eventually be certified 19 x platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA where it stands today. Worldwide sales are reported to be over 45 million.

SureTonelive.com First Streamed Concert with Mick Fleetwood Blues Band Huge Online Success for Artists and Fans

June 16, 2014

Grammy nominated, Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, launched the first in a series of live music events on SureToneLive.com resulting in huge numbers of viewers, social interaction, merchandise and ticket sales. Overall results exceeded expectations across all measurable data points including conversion rate.

Suretone Entertainment powered by Cinsay announces today the results from the first online live music event hosted on SuretoneLive.com. Measured by viewership, social interaction and eCommerce, the event was a huge success. The online show, which was planned, only a few days in advance, with less then $400 in advertising and promotion for the virtual portion, yet drew thousand’s to the site’s page. Within a few hours, viewers from 30 different countries around the world were watching and sharing via the web and on mobile devices.

The online portion of the concert was set up just days in advance to showcase the evolved technologies of Cinsay’s Video Smart Store™ platform and to launch the next evolution of online music entertainment, seamlessly bundled with social sharing and eCommerce. Online viewers had the exclusive opportunity to not only see interviews with the performers and the live concert but to also purchase VIP packages for Fleetwood Mac’s upcoming fall tour, apparel from Mick’s restaurant and music venue, ‘Fleetwood’s’ on Front Street, and to win several one-of-a-kind items autographed by members of the bands. During the live feed, tens of thousands of dollars of merchandise and fan packages were sold. Post data showed an impressive 6.8% conversion rate of sales from video views to number of items purchased inside the video by individual fans.

“Just phenomenal: This event was history-making! We (the band) got back to our roots playing a small venue, which we love to, and had the ability to share that experience up-and-personal with thousands of fans all over the world,” said Mick Fleetwood of The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band. “The SuretoneLive and Cinsay solution is not only the best thing to happen to the music industry in years but it will be the biggest.”

Review: Mick Fleetwood Blues Band - Solana Beach, CA livestream event

Mick Fleetwood Blues Band Featuring Rick Vito
Belly Up Tavern - Solana Beach, CA - June 10, 2014

The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band came alive last night via livestream direct from Solana Beach, CA, the second night at the Belly Up. The livestream of the second show provided by Suretonelive and Cinsay and broadcast world wide online in HD via suretonelive.com and Fleetwood's on Front St. Facebook Page was an exceptionally well produced event with superb visuals and sound.  The online event kicked off about an hour before the show began with Carl Stubner, Chairman of Suretone Entertainment, who has worked with Mick for over 21 years, speaking about how the livestream came together, giving a bit of history on Mick and the Belly Up Tavern and interviewing Mick, Rick and a number of other key people involved who have helped put together this project, a first ever for Suretonelive.

The show was filmed from every angle imaginable by an 8 camera setup which really gave you more than a fly on the wall experience, and I would argue was even better than being in the venue itself. Cameras seemed to be roaming all over the venue and stage capturing the group from every angle possible from up close to wide angle shots of the whole stage. It was really well choreographed as you hardly caught a glimpse of the other cameras unless deliberately shown.  The livestream player was interesting too... during the show, right from within the video player, you could purchase VIP Fleetwood Mac tickets for this fall or Fleetwood's on Front St. merchandise and they also had give-a-ways of the Rumours 2LP/CD Box set for tweeting out the hashtag #MFBBlive. If you shared the live show from the Fleetwood's on Front St. Facebook page to your own page you were entered to win tickets to one of Fleetwood Mac's shows in your city.

The show itself was over two hours long and uninterrupted. Just great music from Mick Fleetwood and his Blue Band featuring Rick Vito... Rick is amazing live! Lot's of energy! What a showman and guitar player. Mick of course is always fun to watch and listen to. He never disappoints. Mick spoke a few times during the course of the show thanking everyone online and at the venue for being there and seemed really excited that he was involved in the first ever livestream music event put on by suretonelive. He said hello to his 97 year old Mother who was at Fleetwood's restaurant on Maui watching the live feed.  Filling out the Blues Band were Lenny Castellanos and Mark Johnstone, who brought much to the sound of the group and were grooving right along with Mick and Rick. Visually, the show was stunning to watch online. The lighting was colourful and it was clear... The sound, if you had great speakers connected was perfect!  They really did do a great job with this livestream and apparently from what they said just prior to the show, it really wasn't planned that far in advance and it all came together rather quickly... So well done to both Suretonelive and Cinsay for bringing the musical experience to the people who couldn't be there!  And thanks to Mick, Rick and the band for a really entertaining night.
