Everyone wants the comeback. Everyone wants to believe they have one more shot at the top of the charts. Most bands who reunite dispense with a new studio album. They're the smart ones. The stage — and 10,000 drunken nostalgic fans — are more forgiving than a recording studio. Ask Fleetwood Mac. They were smart enough to reunite in '97 with a live album, "The Dance." It was an album of oldies, but a #1 album nonetheless.

Part of the magic of Fleetwood Mac is knowing the soap-opera that informs and influences not only the songs but the performances. Lindsey Buckingham sings Go Your Own Way at Stevie Nicks as much as he is singing it with her. Nicks needs Buckingham to accompany her version of Landslide; a song that has added prescience 35 years on from its first performances. And of course in live performance there are nods to the blues band that Fleetwood Mac started out as (under the tutelage of Peter Green). There is something about the music of Fleetwood Mac, it spans generations - something that seems to be happening less and less with music. And this was the perfect show to end the year: full of nostalgia, full of hits, delivered by a band still aware of the magic behind its songs.

Night of a Thousand Stevies is probably the best-known STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. This event began at JACKIE 60 twenty years ago with four performers, and has grown into a true spectacle, featuring countless interpretations over a marathon night. As always, this Enchanted evening will climax in a twirl of shawls and tambourines with the Battle of a Thousand Stevies near morning.

This year's moonlit, milestone edition was inspired by one of Stevie's most enduring and iconic songs, SISTERS OF THE MOON. Though Stevie has not performed this song much of late, it has remained a showpiece and staple of some of NOTS most thrilling performers, from NICOLE NICKS during the JACKIE 60 days right through to POISON EVE and troupe last year. This year's bill will include Legends of Stevie Realness from all eras of the show, and honors them all, who come from all over the country and go through so much to join us, our Sisters of the Moon.

As we once again prepare for a truly magical night, we are humbled by the tremendous support that you bring to NOTS every year. Special greetings to all of our friends from the Stevie Nicks websites and other online outposts for the Gypsies That Remain.
